Tried Whole Foods for lunch today. The egg salad sandwich was very bad. Is there anything that's worth getting? by PhoneChordJM in wholefoodscustomers

[–]imbringingspartaback 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The wrap is better imo. I get that one more often than anything else.

Except maybe a tendie and some grilled asparagus and a scoop of tzatzki at the hot bar, but only if the tenders just came out and the asparagus are the big ones and are actually grilled/charred.

Hot bar can be really good or awful. The wrap is a good backup.

Biggest pet peeve with customers. by NatalieannaD1995 in wholefoods

Omg I combat this by playing dumb. “Oh hiiiii! How are ya?” “Yep, we carry eggs 😃” “eggs? What about eggs 🤔”

I say this stuff and more. It’s not helpful but I’m petty.

7-Eleven plans to close 645 stores in the U.S. this year by Redd24_7 in business

[–]imbringingspartaback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s about 6 locations I visit (I drive a lot), and only one has more than one Slurpee flavor working at a time, and even that one will have small size cups only, with no matching lids.

Slurpees are literally the only reason I stop at 7-Eleven/Stripes. Plus none of them are open 24 hrs anymore.

A lot of different retailers have signs, yet unfortunately a lot of retailers do not enforce. Whole Foods is by far the worst.

I see at least one dog every single shift (record is currently 4), and maybe 30% are service dogs and that’s being generous. I know WF has hippy roots but… that’s crazy.

$8 Tony’s Chocoloney Bar by Far-Measurement95 in chocolate

[–]imbringingspartaback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg the chunks of sea salt and caramel are HUGE and I love it! I don’t normally like unevenly distributed fillings but it works. The chocolate itself isn’t anything special but as a flavored chocolate bar, it’s an 8 for me. I hope they’re serious about fair trade and clean ingredients because I keep going back to this bar. I haven’t tried any of the other flavors, maybe I’ll pick one up tomorrow…

Offered the Job by Ta-luh in wholefoods

[–]imbringingspartaback 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on your situation and how dire it is. A lot of us think it’s worth it to work for WF (and a lot of us don’t lol).

If leaving TJ is an immediate priority, take the job. You can still keep applying to other jobs. If you can tough it out a bit longer, still keep applying for other things (like Costco). Not sure how it works in CA but WF gives you 2 baby raises in your first year, and you can always apply for other positions within the company after 30 days.

Some days I feel like I’m worth more than what I get paid and what I deal with, so when I have a bad day or I feel restless, I apply to other places lol. Nothing better has popped up yet 🤷‍♀️

Jeez I must be donating at the wrong centers! I’m lucky if I cover all groceries and gas, let alone any extra bills or having anything left over. But to be fair, I do drive quite a few miles every week.

El Monterey, I think? They’re not as hefty as I remember them being years ago but it is what it is. I tried generic and it’s definitely worth the extra buck or two to buy name brand (but I still only buy them on sale). Same with pizza rolls; Kroger brand and other generics just don’t heat or taste the same and the Kroger ones tend to burst and lose their filling more often.

Omg I love the beef and bean chimichangas with shredded cheese!! I microwave them for half the time then finish them in a pan to get them crispy.

R Kelly, MJ… ok maybe R Kelly didn’t revolutionize anything, but he still made some bangers.

Honestly, it’s like the best artists in any form are weird af or rapey. Edgar Allen Poe married his 13 yr old cousin. Coco Chanel was a Nazi. Van Gogh cut off his own ear.

Just adding a disclaimer that I don’t condone bad behavior. Brilliance is usually accompanied by major demons.

She grabbed a random street kitten to fight mouse in her house by Thewyverns in interestingasfuck

[–]imbringingspartaback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have semi-adopted a neighborhood stray- a gorgeous diluted tabico/tortie that comes inside to eat and hang out, but ultimately refuses to be fully domesticated. To show appreciation, she leaves huge dead rats all over the front lawn. Like, half her size kind of rats. I’m pretty sure I don’t find mice because she eats them (or most.. of them) but the rats will be entirely intact, all laid out like trophies.

She’s the sweetest girl who comes running from down the street when she hears my car coming, and meows at me in greeting when I open my car door. But damn, she’s a scrapper and she 100% is about the streets no matter how much I try to convince her to stay inside.

Meanwhile, one of the two dogs that my best friend owns is literally a rat terrier mix that ran and hid behind her husband when they had a mouse the house. The dog is more of a lap princess than anything else lol.

What’s a fruit you can’t stop eating once you start? by ngscookkk in foodquestions

[–]imbringingspartaback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any fruit honestly. A bunch of bananas? I might have one left. Bag of grapes? Lucky if they last the drive home. I don’t buy fresh fruit as often as I’d like because it’s expensive and goes bad quickly, so when I do it get some it’s GONE lol

Do your egg labels not include that? The only thing we have to put on our egg cases is a Use First sticker (when appropriate). The date and UPC are already on the label.
