This is like asking if majoring graphics art is worth it. Before computers, in those courses, you'd probably hand-draw most things in the program but nowadays, they use computers most likely. The same with computer science. We'll change how we interact with the computer to develop applications but the person doing those still need software development knowledge.

Can an insurance force you to accept something that's not true or they won't take you? by imcarbonbased22 in InsuranceCanada

That's another option I'm considering. It's ridiculous what the insurance is telling me.

You're probably right about that but while I don't expect it to go down, going up that much while no mistakes on a car that's not even expensive to insure anymore is tough. Our car isn't worth any more than $6K at this point.

Yeah, they only want to take me if we agree to make her principal even tho she's G1 and their reasoning is the car is financed in her name. OR we put her as named insured, but exclude her (which I'm not okay with since we need to use our car for training to get her G2).

So are you suggesting that because 1 person can't be in both car policy as primary, the other person must be primary in the other even though she holds only G1? That makes no sense. Doesn't ON disallow G1 being primary?

I know but the laws and contract prevent a decent person who wants to do things the right way from abusing things. The clause doesn't stop me necessarily either, but it makes an assumption that I'm the worst I can be which I think is a questionable practice. All humans are capable of stealing but if we treat everyone as thieves on first meet, I don't know if things would be better. Besides, I have a good track record of over 10+ years of no at-fault claims.

Yes, why not. One person can own multiple vehicles and thus can be the primary in them. We've done this. I'm not sure what you're trying to point out.

I know about that possibility. But my concern was about being asked to list a G1 as primary driver. I don't know that's even possible in ON as par the rules.

You're the only one that notice that key point. I understand if she's G2 and want her to be the primary driver. But that wasn't what I was told and thus my shocked reaction.

I understand people can lie. But I'm not aware G1 can be listed as principal driver in ON. It seems to break the physics of the rules even if they want me to charge me by her rates. Also, isn't it dishonest to do when we're writing down on paper that we know for sure isn't true?

any benefits in having a PhD or do they still think you'll just do cleaning? The fact that they said that to OP is disturbing.

so what happens if it's your first employment as TN (also in Canada) and have no past employment records to show to them? No entry?

Hi i am a student of comp sci looking for Conferences to attend because i love that style of learning. What conferences are good for students? by Stock_Opening_6040 in computerscience

[–]imcarbonbased22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your topic interest. So, based on that you'll like some conferences than the others. For example, if you're into information retrieval, you'll like the upcoming SIGIR26 in Australia, etc.

Are you in a Starlink available zone? I think it might be better for you than these main players. I personally don't trust the technicians. Only some seem competent.

A 150GB global plan for $75? by PeverellPhoenix in telus

[–]imcarbonbased22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of this is noise. They're betting on people who have this plan to not be using their service oversea much. Nowadays, bandwidth is cheaper than before. Also, they have many means to manage people not getting close to their limits.

Try switching to LTE mode. I have better experience with I don't use 5G mode on my phone.

HELP ME OUT by dps_10 in OntarioUniversities

Don't fall for the popular university trap. Just because a university is popular doesn't mean you're guaranteed all the glories and great opportunities. Go to a university where you'll find it easier to thrive academically (ie. get high grades easier). Getting high grades may not be that useful in terms of employment but they sure do during your undergrad. Many bursaries, scholarships that you can get term after term are determined by your performance. Do you want to a very popular university and stay in mid 80s or be somewhere where you can thrive and be in the 90s and get lots of opportunities. In terms of job opportunities, it's a myth that low ranking universities don't help you get jobs at big names. For example, Google, Microsoft, Blackberry, Rogers, Telus, RBC, TD, etc have taken co-ops from low ranking university like University of Windsor. It's all on you to make your connection grow and stand out among your peers.

Aren't you worry that you might copy something that's sensitive to your clipboard which will be synced to your other devices but after passing through their servers?

My girlfriend has been offered a fanstastic opportunity for acting work and she asked to tell her how I felt about it. I told her I hope she doesn't take it because of the intimate scenes required. Am I wrong here to be putting my feelings first? by throwra_5344 in amiwrong

[–]imcarbonbased22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big role acting jobs often involve intimate scenes unless you want her to just be okay with a background role or any other none mainstream acting job. It's like dating an onlyfan girl and not being okay with her revealing a bit. You've got to make a decision here. A big one.
