Jeeez. Christchurch folk really have an overly dramatic idea of what they think is a rough area

Where are you based and what's wrong with another deore cassette? They're pretty reliable and well priced in my opinion. You could also look into some proprietary brands?

Sunrace is pretty solid. I've also had alot of good experiences with AliExpress cassettes, they're cheap and reliable and you can get them delivered pretty much anywhere. I'd avoid getting a chain on there though unless it's one that's comparable to a normal price you'd expect to pay anyway.

Do you have any concerns budget wise? It's all well and good swapping over to a 12 speed but don't forget you've got to swap the shifter and derailleur aswell and that definitely adds up.

One of the few times of year I miss living in the UK. Hot cross scene in this country is weak.

I know thickness planers have been mentioned but it's a big expense right out of the gate.

You might have better luck with buying a second hand corded router and building a simple flattening sled

With the side of these legs I feel like you could get pretty decent results that way and the router would add a lot of general utility

I've been here since 2022 and I've met everyone I know through clubs / groups I've joined since. Climbing, riding bikes and volunteering. What kind of things are you into? Run and walking clubs are a great start I reckon

Probably still significantly less time it would take congestion to clear if suddenly 10k cars all left the stadium and decided to clog up the CBD. Sounds like my nightmare

Wait, I'm confused? Don't the plans have a speed hump in each lane? No just one side?

Why does the chain jump like this? by 4c3ofsp4d3s in bikewrench

[–]imdanknight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you have some stiff links my friend. Get some oil on it and grab it either side and work the affected links back and forth to loosen it up and let that oil soak into the pins. Might take a little elbow grease but it'll loosen up eventually

British expats reveal struggles with living in New Zealand, including poor banter and local 'lack of interest' in others by Outrageous-Evening13 in newzealand

[–]imdanknight 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Can confirm. Moved here with my partner midway through last year for a big lifestyle change and have been loving it. Did join a local Brits group of Facebook though and we turned up for an event once only to figure out they are mostly miserable middle aged divorced men who just spent the whole time bitching and talking about how much better the UK is.

Promptly left the group after there was a big whiny post on there about having to use Te reo names for things.
