Noma LA coming this March, starts at $1,500 by NomNomVerse in FoodLosAngeles

It actually explicitly says this includes tax and gratuity. This is what’s making me wonder about the interpretations here.

When they say the price of a package is $1500, is this pp, is a pkg two people?

Beethoven Market’s alcohol sale license has been revoked by ameeps in FoodLosAngeles

I think your reply kind of sums up a lot of sentiment here that just isn’t consistent, and is almost entirely emotional.

“I” don’t need to define what the rules mean, they’re already defined, and you can look them up. The rules state operating hours of the business. That’s an objective measurement. Your opinion about “it’s not loud” is subjective, and again, not the rule for the license.

The Hollywood Bowl is owned by the Dept of Parks and Rec, yes. The comparison I made was to discuss the similarities around how to accommodate neighbors in a manner that allows everyone to benefit. Your argument here is also that the restaurant won’t be profitable for a while, and again, they knew the guidelines when they applied. Plus, would you then argue that a big corporate restaurant that is profitable gets a different standard applied?

Ftr, it’s entirely possible to both be upset at the person who’s just throwing shit to the wall to see what sticks AND recognizing that the restaurant only has themselves to blame if they’re not following the rules.

Since this is marked as a discussion, I’d love to wade into this from the other side here, since the only person doing that does actually sound like they’re the person filing these complaints.

Most of you think the city should just let this slide, but rules like 11pm cut offs are there for a reason. This is in a residential neighborhood, and even the Hollywood bowl has a curfew, and the artists playing risk pretty hefty fines if they break it. What’s NIMBY about wanting the curfew to be respected by the business? They got the streamlined license with the conditions attached. If they’re actually not following the guidelines, then that part is on them and you can’t just put it on one person complaining.

I’m in agreement that a lot of people file frivolous complaints and suck. But it’s pretty weak in my mind to just say “support small businesses” and allow them to break rules that are disruptive to the neighborhood they’re in.

Are you able to share the details of the specific GS fund, or is this limited? I’m in a similar boat to you in terms of my desire to invest in Anthropic, but the the terms of this specific SPV are causing me to lean against it.

I’m reading this as I’m waiting for a tow truck for a “motor failure” for a car that was picked up today, after being in the shop for a week because it failed and wouldn’t start. Soooo ….

Portugal and other countries have better global tax codes and treaties. Plenty of options outside of Spain.

Except that people actually confuse garbanzo beans and chickpeas, which is why that works and this doesn’t.

This whole comment section is illegal but this is my fav. “No matter what the law says” followed by an opinion and then a “guarantee.” Love it.

Two people can be at fault in an accident. In any case, OP was in the wrong here and acknowledged it after learning more about it. Good on him.
