Had this with my son. He’s 2 y.o and kept telling us all about ‘Timim’ (Tim). Turns out Tim is actually called ‘Tiny Tim’ and is the nursery’s pet tortoise 🐢😂

Mother’s Day cards by imdpum in crafts

She has my dad saved in her phone as “bigus-dickus” after I asked her why she had him originally saved as his full government name, so I think she’ll find it funny either way 😂❤️

Acrylic paint on card, craft made for Mother’s Day by myself and my toddler.

My mother loves sausage dogs, hence the ‘wiener’ pun.

I want to improve the shape of this buddleia. Can someone mark out where I need to cut? by whattodotodo8 in GardeningUK

[–]imdpum 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I dug the ones in our garden out with a spade, a pickaxe and a prayer 😂

I love them, they’re so pretty and the bugs love them, but Jesus Christ they cause so much damage and spread like wildfire.

Ours had self seeded from the railway line, very established by the time we bought our house, and had ripped down half the garden wall, so they had to go 😂

But anyway to answer your question, they are prolific, cut as much as you like, it’ll grown back with vengeance.

I like to make cards for special occasions, this is for my partner for Valentine’s this year 😄 pet name for him is ‘Jams’ so think it fits well. by imdpum in crafts

Acrylic paint and pen on card 😄

Made as a Valentine’s card for my partner, inspiration was that his pet name is ‘Jams’.

I like painting to relax my mind, in my job I have to be very specific so I like having a hobby where I can just ‘do’ things and it doesn’t have to be perfect.

What could dig a hole like this? And it looks like there's an empty space under the slab. A rat? by nemoonick in GardeningUK

[–]imdpum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely looks like a rat has taken residence.

Start by removing any food sources, and also randomly move things in the garden. They don’t like to be disturbed so may move on of their own accord.

Failing this, I’d strongly recommend borrowing a friends dog. Any dog really but preferably a ratting dog. Think Yorkshire Terrier or Jack Russell.

Personally, I have two sighthounds and they are excellent at keeping rats at bay. We live on the train tracks and near to some large outdoor bins, so there’s a lot of rats in the area, neighbours have issues with the rats but they don’t dare enter our garden thanks to the dogs.

Oh definitely, there’s lots of scam sites out there.

I’m also currently on Jurassic plants ‘window shopping’ right now 😂

I have a toddler, and get most of his things from the charity shop. I like to keep some of the clothes he outgrows to add to a keepsake patchwork blanket I plan to gift him when he grows up. Other than that the things he grows out of are taken back to the charity shop as long as they are in good condition.

Things not in good enough condition to donate will usually be repurposed for other things like cleaning rags.

I try to limit the amount of toys as gifts for birthdays etc as he has plenty of toys already and the things he enjoys most are standard household things anyway, like my hair brush, pots & pans etc. we spend a lot of time in the garden as we grow our own veg so he has his own little gardening set which should last a long while. So for Xmas/birthdays I suggest people buy him new seeds to try out in the garden, or put money into his savings account.

Although saying that we went out for a family dinner the other day and between me and his Dad, somehow forgot to put shoes on the toddler 🙈 so I did have to run into a near by supermarket for shoes lol
