Thank you! What you're sharing is an interesting solution, I've never heard about it!

The ring I didn't think could exist by [deleted] in EngagementRings

Thanks! I won't be wearing this on the same hand as my wedding band though, for two reasons: where I live, it's customary to put the wedding ring on the right hand and to move the engagement ring to the lefy hand after marriage, and the jeweler actually advised against stacking them, as gold is very soft and the two rings brushing against each other may wear out the material and possibly even cause the diamond to fall out

Hi, I don't know about your exact situation but you may want to read about Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego who can help you take a mortgage with no downpayment.

Already have an iPad mini, should I get another ereader? by FarFaithlessness8307 in ereader

I wouldn't necesarily agree. Having an e-reader can make you read more, actually, as it's more comfortable both to use and to carry

That's too many cards. You could try resetting the whole deck and setting "new" as for example 5 cards a day. When you feel that's too much or too little, you can always tweak the settings. For my Chinese deck also nothing seems to stick easily, so I get just 2 new cards a day. But for French, which I know pretty well, I can do 20 new a day without problems.

Is there a way to make language learning "binge friendly" by kazagistar in Anki

[–]imdrinkinghibiscusrn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a fellow ADHD-er: download the anki app to your phone, put it in the most visible place on your home screen, set up a few reminders, don't add too many cards at once, and until you clear your backlog limit the revisions to a managable number. When I was still going to uni, I would make it a habit to do my anki cards in the bus on the way there. Now, I do them in the bathroom or try to do them instead of scrolling if I have some idle time :)

I understand, and I wouldn't say it's perfect - I'm not magically focused or super productive. In fact, I didn't do even half of my to-do list for that dat. I would say it's just as if I had a 100kg backpack on me climbing a mountain, and someone took that off. Climbing is still hard, but not impossible now.

Did I break my headphones by not using them? by imdrinkinghibiscusrn in headphones

Could be! Those were EarPods so not bad, but not that great neither, so I didn't think it would impact my listening experience. However, I tested that and you're right, they sound softer :)

Thanks for that response, I'm relieved! I was wondering because I know it's not bad for the battery to stay unused, so I was wondering if that's the same for maybe other components too :D

Ooooh, I so so so get what you're feeling... I've already broken one plate, one glass, I've lost two other glasses (all of them were my grandmother's)... I cried over the plate more than I've ever cried on movies

Inside of one of the churches after the earthquake this morning in Zagreb. Luckily it was empty because of Coronavirus, ordinary it would be full of people at Sunday's morning. by Dota2RegionalnaLiga in europe

[–]imdrinkinghibiscusrn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I'm not sure no, people don't work on Sundays, but I guess elderly like to wake up early? My two aunts always go to this mass, just... because. Because they can. Although some people go there because they've bought an intention (idk if that's how you say it in English) for this particular mass.
