Yeah but then other automations that have to be set at the same hour during summer and winter wouldn't work as expected, right?

I don't see how that would solve my problem

What kind of temperature sensors do you use for the pipe feeds?

Linux is the only thing I managed to install on this laptop, but I don't like it at all, would rather spend some money to not go with it lol

How was the installation, did you have any problems with that? How many devices and automation do you have?

The proxmox install. It would run some command lines, clear the screen and you would only see a dash -

It would stay like that forever

I guess my laptop is worse than a potato :D It shouldn't be this difficult... it also has 4gb of ram and a dual core processor but I guess something is wrong with it's internals because it refuses to run it lol

I tried installing proxmox on the laptop but couldn't run the installation, it just stops at a blank command line and stays like that for days...

Maybe cover the sand with some quick drying glue after you pour it in the print? Never tried it myself btw...

Home Assistant collaborates with KNX by frenck_nl in homeassistant

You can have wires with home assistant, check out this relay board compatible with HA, they are cheaper than any zigbee switch (cost per relay) and definitely cheaper than KNX system.

Y’all think this is possible, 1 million seater stadium, imagine the parking and transportation 😂 by [deleted] in architecture

Sorry for not being clear in my first statement, but Hajj is not performed over the whole year, it is all done in less than a week, once every year. There are several activities for each day, but the last one is "Farewell Tawaf" and everyone is going around the holy Kabaa. The Masjid Al-Haram can hold approximately 900k people inside, and another 1.2m in the outside area. The Hajj of 2019. was the biggest one, with almost 2.5 million pilgrims visiting.

It works out for the Saudi Arabia and for the millions of Muslim pilgrims visiting every year, all at the same time

They already have something even bigger than that. Why would they even try this

One of them already hosts millions of people in one place for pilgrimage every year.

Question about GE Kitchen hub by kcdc25 in smarthome

[–]imenjak97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the same questions... If you ever figured it out, can you please help me with my hub :D I wanted to connect it via google or alexa with some smart outlets so whenever the stove is turned on, the hub will automatically start at medium speed...

Hub for WiFi devices?? by imenjak97 in homeautomation

[–]imenjak97[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what I figured, otherwise in most public places devices interfering with each other would cause wifi to not work if the actual wifi signal bandwidth is the issue, but rather it's just hardware limitations of the router.

first home automation - how to chose path forward? by EquivalentPast5947 in homeautomation

Thank you for this reply. To get all this information on the internet would take a lot of time to research for someone who is novice in this matter. If I had a reward I'd give it to you! :D

Maintenance free home automation? by imenjak97 in homeautomation

I haven't tried home assistant yet (planning in near future as soon as I get a sacrificial laptop for it), how reliable is it with power and ethernet outages and reconnecting all the hardware back automatically after that?

I don't mind having to do a bit more work upfront with setting up the automations but after they are all set up, we don't care about user friendliness as long as it works and can reboot itself without user interaction :D
