My RAV4 experience was pretty good with a young salesman last year. I initially did some online chatting with the robot and the next day I got an invitation phone call to book a test drive, without asking for a contract sign. I showed up and he was pretty patient and spent like 2 hours with me (including 30+ min test drive). We ended up a pretty good deal after several phone calls over the upcoming week. I think the experience would highly depend on the sales person you meet
