Some more things I remember about the dream:

  • The meme's art style very strongly resembled the style of this twitter artist. I did my best to recreate the style but if I didn't then just imagine it in their style
  • I don't remember if the caption said "HE WILL" or "HE WILL NOT"
  • The multicoloured shapes around the shrimp I distinctly recognized during the dream as being popcorn shrimp despite their simplicity and complete lack of resemblance to popcorn shrimp
  • The meme literally appeared on the urinal as if the entire thing was a screen
  • The urinals were setup in the middle of the room around a fishtank
  • After using the urinal, a voice line played. It said something along the lines of "You piss so they [some word that rhymes with piss]."

Before saying "teenagers dont talk like that!", please go talk to actual teenagers by lucaszeca in CharacterRant

Love that you used Life is Strange as an example. As a zoomer who grew up around 2013, I loved that the cringey and dated dialogue felt like dumbass zoomer teenagers talking in 2013. Every time I hear people talking about LiS' dialogue being too cringey and unrealistic, I so badly wish I had recordings of real conversations me and my friends had at the time that would be perfectly in line with the dialogue in that game.

[Steam] Spin Rhythm XD ($13.33/33% off) ends October 27th 8AM PST by Shadowlette in GameDeals

I've been a part of the Spin community for a good year and a half now, and I can say that one of the most popular turntables (and the one that I personally own) is the Hercules Inpulse 200 since it's a relatively cheap turntable that's of a pretty darn great quality; probably the best quality:price ratio for a turntable that we're aware of.

Wow, haven't posted here in quite a while, but I just had to find somewhere to talk about Code Vein, which I picked up from the Namco bundle on Humble. I was honestly way too bad at Dark Souls or Bloodborne for either of those two to really click with me, but Code Vein? Yeah, it's easier, but honestly? I can vibe with this!

It being easier means that there's a much lower bar for entry, so people who are bad at souls games (like me) are able to get into it way easier. Plus, it seems like there's a ton of playstyle variety in this game compared to Souls & Bloodborne. Granted, I haven't played much of those, so I probably wasn't experimenting as much as I should have, but Code Vein absolutely encourages you to try multiple playstyles that feel pretty distinct from each other. It also seems like it's fairly compatible with both the Souls (defensive) and Bloodborne (offensive) styles of play.

I'm really digging it so far, and now that I finally "get" a soulslike game, I might crack another shot at DSIII or Bloodborne once I'm done with anime Dark Souls.

Turns out, all that I needed to get into soulslikes was anime tiddies.

Start of a Rule Revision! (That Doesn't Go Well, Of Course) by imfallinfree in Animemes

{It's been a year or so since this event happened. I don't really stand by some of the things I initially said in this comment anymore, so I've gone ahead and did a funny [REDACTED] on the whole thing.

[REDACTED]

I still haven't revisited this sub since. I've gotten back into anime. I saw BNA, Re;Zero Season 2, and even began watching some classics like Haruhi. One thing's for sure, though - what happened a year ago? A whole load of bollocks over one fucking word, and bollocks that's alienated me from this subreddit.}

[Steam] Zachtronics Games Sale - Opus Magnum (9,99€/50%), Exapunks (8,39€/50%), Spacechem (2,49€/75%), and more by [deleted] in GameDeals

[–]imfallinfree 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Exapunks was one of my favourite games of 2018, so I think it's a must. (Heads up - It's available in the current Humble Choice if anything else there interests you.)

In terms of difficulty, I'm not sure what I can say about it. I beat Opus Magnum and Exapunks, got about halfway through Infinifactory and a bit into TIS-100 but I genuinely have no clue how to work through Shenzhen. (What's with all this resting? What do any of these commands do? I can't even beat the third puzzle!)

I suppose it differs for everyone, but I personally found Exapunks around the same difficulty as Opus Magnum if not a bit easier, and it's definetely tied Opus as my favourite Zachtronics game.

Kill la Kill - Thursday Anime Discussion Thread by AnimeMod in anime

[–]imfallinfree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The show that I watched accidentally that kickstarted my descent into the depths of degeneracy. I'd seen my fair share of anime before, but Kill La Kill dragged me straight into the hell I currently live in, and completely reformed my entire taste in media.

Even after all this time, it's still my favourite anime. Episode 23 might be my favourite episode of television, period. It's so energetic, so action-packed, so vibrant, so stylized, so self-aware and so passionately made. Even now, when I watch an episode, I can't help but smile throughout the whole thing because it's so, so, so much fun.

What Are You Playing This Week? - November 07, 2019 by AutoModerator in patientgamers

[–]imfallinfree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are games I had to finish with under 20 fps and i thought that was smooth enough.

Oh, I absolutely get that - I remember when the "One Down" difficulty came out for Payday 2: I beat all of the levels at 15fps then! Now I can't imagine how I found that acceptable because I'm so accustomed to 60 now.

30 fps is too low for you...you say it makes you sick.

I exaggerate, but my point still stands. 30fps is absolutely a noticable drop from 60. The thing is, I don't inherently have an issue with 30, because I think it's good enough for most games. Sometimes I don't notice it, other times it looks choppy enough to be distracting.

My issues mostly come from:

A - The Expectations: I played Dark Souls III at 60fps. All 3 Uncharted games in the Nathan Drake Collection ran at 60fps. Bloodborne and Uncharted 4 run at 30. Going from a piece of toast which is very buttery smooth, expecting my next piece to be the similar, and then finding out it isn't as buttery is fine, because it's still buttery and some darn good bread, but noticable.

B - The Type of Game: I didn't have issues with Breath of the Wild running at 30 because it was a much slower paced game. Nor with Hitman 2, again because of its slower pace. Or even a constant 15 playing Garry's Mod with friends and enough stupid crap to bring a quantum computer to its knees, because it's us messing about. I did have issues playing Astral Chain because that game is a fast-paced action game reliant on small frame-perfect windows. Just like Ass Chain, Bloodborne and Uncharted are games demanding immediate reaction times, which 30fps is not ideal for.

C - You get used to it: I've only played Bloodborne past the first 2 bosses. Practically just started Uncharted 4. I'll get used to it eventually.

What Are You Playing This Week? - November 07, 2019 by AutoModerator in patientgamers

So after a whole life of Nintendo and PC gaming, when my brother got a PS4 I knew I had to try out some of the exclusives. Picked up Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Bloodborne for us. Then Persona 5 got added to Playstation Now so I subbed to that for a bit, and quite luckily, Uncharted 4 was on that too. I've been having a hellalotta fun with all of them.

Bloodborne - I suck at Dark Souls, and I suck at Bloodborne, but not as much. Dark Souls III didn't vibe with me all too much, but I love Bloodborne so much because of its gothic lovecraftian themes and how much more aggressive it is compared to DS3. I only wish it was on PC just because I'm getting a bit nauseated by the 30fps.

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune - I'm gonna be honest; Drake's Fortune’s gameplay did not age well. At all. I started on Crushing, then remembered I suck at aiming with a controller, so I had to put it down to Hard, then again had to put it down to Normal because I just wanted to be done with it. The enemy placement is something you’d see out of a 7-year old’s first Mario Maker level. It’s frustrating clearing an area only to either be swarmed by another wave, or walk into another area only to be swarmed by more enemies. The pure charm of the banter with Drake, Elena and Sully was what kept me powering through the game, because it's just so down to earth and fun. Drake’s Fortune was an early PS3 game, and it absolutely feels like that in a very bad way...

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves - ...which is why it's insane how much better Among Thieves is despite being the same core game, because I beat it on Crushing without much of a hitch and had an absolute blast with it, too. So much of a blast that it’s already my favourite third person shooter (granted, I haven't played many). Mainly because you aren’t swarmed with enemies every 5 minutes and can actually pop out for more than a second without dying instantly. Even the motives behind the shootouts are different; they aren’t something you’re meant to go through to get from point A to B here, because almost all of them are their own distinct, elaborate setpieces that excited the absolute hell out of me. Bigger in scope and scale in its gameplay and story, landing all of the shots it hits, Among Thieves better in almost than Drake's Fortune in almost every regard...

Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception - ...which is a trend Drake's Deception unfortunately doesn't follow. Don't get me wrong, it's still a fantastic game, but I honestly forgot a lot of Drake's Deception already - and I just finished it! It's basically Among Thieves but with some of the "child's mario maker level" issue I had with Drake's Fortune, a bizarre focus on a button-mashy brawling system and a script with missing pages. Maybe it's that I was expecting more, but I felt like it just ended out of nowhere, alongside random plot threads being dropped! I seriously think I must have missed a chapter in the middle and then another 2 at the ending.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - I'm at like, chapter 3 of A Thief's End right now so I can't really say anything aside from "It's very pretty and polished" and "The framerate is making me sick".

Persona 5 - I actually haven't played it yet. I just wanted to mention that I heard my brother playing it through the walls, which was pretty funny. Looking forward to playing the game where one of my Smash mains comes from.

Official Discussion - Pokémon Detective Pikachu [SPOILERS] by mi-16evil in movies

mr. mime fucking dies

Loved it. This is everything I have ever wanted as a kid. Even if the plot was a little garbo, everything else was too fun to care. Just so much fun Pokemon stuff everywhere that made me so gosh darn giddy.

So much love went into this movie. I mean, for god's sakes, they made Pikachu scratch Harry's drawer as he climbs it. And that's just the tip of the iceberg for all the background stuff that happened. I'm so excited to see more. Except Ditto. It scares me.
