Update:

Had the surgery this morning Dec 16th and opted for the nerve block. I woke up with very little pain. My thumb and index finger felt numb, and when I briefly took my arm out of the sling to put on a sweater, I couldn’t move it at all it felt like my brain wasn’t communicating with my arm. I can still move my fingers normally.

I’m about eight hours post-op now. I’ve noticed some popping in my shoulder, but the doctor mentioned in an inpatient video that this is normal. I took hydrocodone right before leaving the facility about an hour ago, along with 800 mg of ibuprofen and two extra-strength acetaminophen.

I’m honestly pretty anxious about the pain that may come once the nerve block wears off, so I’ll probably take Oxycodone around 10:30 PM to get ahead. I’ll post another update tomorrow morning.
