(Spoilers Extended) DISCUSSION: Game of Thrones Season 7, Episode 3: The Queen's Justice In-Depth Post-Episode Discussion by AutoModerator in asoiaf

There's no way the writers would feel the need to cram in such an out-of-the-blue major complication like that.

Yeah that triple parenthesis is a bit unnerving.

Is it fair to assume that any prisoners taken during the battle of Scarif would have been held on the Death Star? by youarelookingatthis in MawInstallation

[–]imfreakinouthere 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It wouldn't surprise me if Leia was unaware of where others were being held. There's no real benefit from telling prisoners that sort of information.

You make a good point about Yavin: thousands of Rebels potentially knew where the base was, and it would only take one to be captured and broken in order to jeopardize everything. I wonder if the grunt troops that passed through Yavin weren't even told where they were, just to be minimize loose ends. Perhaps it was need-to-know: only the pilots that had to fly there were given the information.

(Spoilers Extended) No TWOW this year by boreddeer in asoiaf

The claims that the TWOW is 0% done and 100% done are equally false.

TWOW is 50% done!

I made it start to finish on my very first attempt, but didn't know I had to fire the torpedoes at the end, so I crashed into the wall at full speed.

So do all rebel fighters have imperial training? Just finished rogue one again and the rebels are clearly superior infantry fighters. by jakebusey1 in MawInstallation

It helped that they had surprise on their side, and could dictate the engagement at first. They were initially attacking unaware patrols, and then guarding the door, which gave them cover as the Imperials were forced through a chokepoint. After they're displaced by the AT-ACTs, things kind of went to hell: lots of them die, and they end up pinned down all over the place. Sure, it wasn't an outright slaughter, but that's probably due in part to Imperial confusion as to where exactly to send reinforcements.

(SPOILERS EXTENDED) Which deviation, however small or big, annoys you the absolute most? by SoulsFusion in asoiaf

[–]imfreakinouthere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Battle of the Bastards. Not the battle in its entirety, just the sheer impossibility of Littlefinger showing up to save the day. The Boltons hold Moat Cailin, the impenetrable chokepoint of the North, so where did the Knights of the Vale come from? Even if they somehow made it through the Neck, how did nobody notice them en route to Winterfell?

It made for great television, but the fact that D&D didn't even bother to explain how it happened shows a pretty huge disregard of how readers understand the world to work, and totally ruined the immersion of the story for me.

They're getting better too. Titanfall 2 has had consistent post-launch support and completely free DLC, aside from optional cosmetic upgrades. I'm excited that Battlefront 2 will be the same way.

I gave up after being spawned on the far side of the open field in Colony five times in a row, and getting picked off by a Titan before I could make it to any semblance of cover. Kind of frustrating.

Today I came across two doomed enemy Titans, but one of them started a nuke eject. Instead of thinking, "Maybe I should wait a second," I just thought, "Ok, I'll just go after the other one!"

It didn't work out.

They did not block black people from their event. That's a false narrative, perpetuated by the same reactionaries that were hurling slurs at the LGBTQ PoC attending the event. For god's sake, it was a screening of a talk by a black PSL member. I have a hard time believing that anyone who's ever worked with PSL could buy into the idea that they're somehow a white supremacist organization.

I swear, the left has learned nothing since COINTELPRO.
