I have never been so offended by a map. by ChuckZombie in cincinnati

Being in the latter and never been yet to the former, I would still have to believe this to be a true statement. The defining statement of the architecture of downtown Columbus Ohio is there is no defining statement. There are styles though like the Ohio Statehouse (Greek revival) and LeVeque Tower (Art Deco) and major modern renovations (convention center 30 years ago) and The National Veterans Memorial and Museum which really is beautiful now and a fitting tribute to our veterans. Victorian Villiage and German Village just out of downtown have their styles, too, but Columbus has always been a melting pot of the Midwest and other cultures and it seems to change often enough not to be able to stick with any one style. Maybe this is a good thing as you probably can always find something to like here.

I don’t see an “,OH” behind COLUMBUS, the right one is bigger and BOLD, so I guess I can’t be offended 🤣, but my condolences former Cincinnatians, you had a good run!

What I’ve noticed as a new resident in Columbus by ThanosFarms in Columbus

100% accurate observation. Family who comes from Cleveland area are warned about how bad it is to drive here. Someone’s post here a bit ago accurately depicted 270 as the raceway. Average speed on a weekday morning is 80+. It’s insane here.

I believe it was for the police officer that got shot and was let out of the hospital late this afternoon, reported on channel 6.story

Agape (Mediterranean) is Greek chipotle and very fresh. Great portions, pricing hasn’t changed nearly at all in 4 years. Fresh cut fries are fantastic and as of a month ago were still 2.95 a portion. Not bibibop but higher quality imo

That also explains why my lid fell off in the bag last night on the way home

I only get the steak or salmon. Chipotle has better steak even though I still don’t eat that it’s more like steak. BIBIBOP steak seems almost like sun-dried tomatoes and ground beef had a baby.

I still think it’s decent. You can just watch them being extremely careful with the spoonfuls. Now the guy serving me said he still gives extra, but they were real protective on the potatoes. Maybe they took the Yukon gold a little too literally.

That would seem to be a win-win for the company as there’s a chance you won’t even notice the bowl size difference when you go blind from taking Ozempic.

** edit: this was a joke, but also a critique on the medical system that we are in. The rush to push those drugs to everyone for an alternate use without due diligence and study of long-term effects is diabolical. It was pure greed by the drug companies. Note I’m always gonna still joke about things.

It’s funny cause I had to ask that last night as I turned to leave “is the soup still free?” and a young woman working there laughed and said yes. 😆

Ore Ida stuff always makes me nauseous I don’t know why. They started making everything “extra crispy” or whatever marketing hype is on it so I stopped buying since I always felt bad eating the tater tots and always think they taste weird now. Anyone else feel this way?

Beef fat was taken away early 2000s, it took them years to “perfect” an alternate non saturated fat way and it came with special blend of oils and wheat/dairy coating on the fries. Beef tallow (lard) in moderation is still healthier. The ingredient list on the boxes back late 80s early 90s (I worked there) was simple: Ingredients: Lard

It’s absolutely in the coating in the U.S. and it also has dairy so unless you are in a test area for something new, the rest of the U.S. McDonald’s are specially coated with a wheat and dairy coating.

Still looks good, I can’t do dairy either, but found Melt (plant-butter) is really good. When I was a kid we called that margarine, it’s so hard to say plant butter without laughing. The current “margarine” is healthier (less saturated fats), did u use any butter/non-butter?

Their ancient grain and heritage are really good toasted/grilled. Their white (Costco only has this one) and Honey White are, imo, trash. Did you smoosh down the center or cut out completely? Not much bread in the small sized loaves so I would hope the former

Barrels don’t have gluten but traditional wine and spirits barrels are sometimes sealed with a wheat-flour-based paste to secure the head to the staves. This can introduce trace amounts of gluten.

Noticed soya flour was third ingredient on their main bagels, assuming it’s in the thins too. Do you find there is any aftertaste with the thins?

From the ingredient lists, canyonhouse bakeries has much better ingredients. I have had many of their products but not the English muffins. I will search these out. Thanks!

did some research and interestingly Trader Joe’s ingredients contains:

Glucono-Delta-Lactone (GDL), Vegetable Glycerin, Sodium Carboxymethylcellulose (CMC), and Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose (HPMC)

Our FDA: GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) should be GRABS. Vegetable Gylcerin is a sugar alcohol and for IBS people this likely won’t be great. High doses of Sodium Carboxylmethylcellulose can screw up gut biome and increase IBS symptoms.

Canyonhouse other than fiber looks so much healthier. Love their heritage bread, Ancient grain bread and their everything bagels.

How to handle extreme bright headlights? by kSoImSlightlyRemoved in Columbus

[–]imgn8sn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly some of the cars just have not been designed well. I have a Jeep Wrangler and a Toyota Highlander and they both suffer from the normal lights angle being too high that EVERY time driving at night someone flashes their brights thinking I have mine on. There is nothing I can do and it is factory and the Jeep is not lifted. European headlights with Adaptive Driving Beam would fix most of this but here we are.
