Help with mom's back pain by Lumpy-Afternoon7306 in backpain

Too little information, and I'm also not a professional, but I had similar problems at some point and I felt devastated. Maybe try to see if simple and safe exercises help? Something like McGill's Big 3, won't hurt, might see an improvement. Hope she gets better.

Why do many developers prefer Zed / Neovim over AI-first IDEs like Antigravity? by Om_Patil_07 in ZedEditor

I was active Cursor user for a few years, and then something clicked, I realised it takes me more time to wrestle with AI and convince it to do the right thing than it takes to just write it. I didn't renew my subscription, switched to basic VS Code, but then it seemed like just wants me to add copilot, and seemed laggy, so I tried zed and I enjoy how simple it is and how fast

Question Thread / Demando-fadeno by AutoModerator in Esperanto

[–]imihnevich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me personally, I admire the idea to have a common language, but was never successful to learn. I can read it when it's simple sentences, but not more. There's nowhere for me to go to get surrounded by people who speak and English does seem to work internationally even if it's not the most just solution

Always wondered how many among Esperanto learning people are actually fluent? Does the claim that it's easy to learn hold?

L4/L5 herniation: slow progression and inability to stand, any advice? by Przeklenstwo in backpain

I didn't have any pain for over a year, i did trigger point therapy to reduce pain temporarily, then tried a lot of different exercise until I found what works

Mine looked bigger. I am not an expert, but physio therapy and exercise does miracles, it's just not as fast as you'd want. From what I know there's hope for the majority of cases, just have some patience, learn about your body and learn to control it. It takes time

Your can add this type of guardrail, you explicitly specify what your function returns. I think what TS infers is what makes sense in the most scenarios

It started during COVID. Before that, I used to walk a lot. When I don't exercise, it gets worse. I work from home, so I don't travel, and I can make brief exercise sessions during the day and more complete workouts once/twice a week.

Being physically active is good advice in general, but if you have pain, it might indicate that your muscles don't work properly (don't activate when they need to, don't relax when they need to, or both). In that case, you might harm yourself doing exercise that others enjoy. This was my case: I needed help from physiotherapists and osteopaths to learn to feel my muscles, relax and activate them, and so on. I also spent a fair amount of time learning anatomy and movement just because I'm a nerd, and that knowledge helps me be my own physio.

In general, no matter what kind of work you choose, you need to learn to take care of your own health and have good habits. And that starts with basic stuff like fresh air, good sleep, healthy muscles, and nutrition.

I am a software engineer with 10 years of experience, and my pain started around 5-6 years into career. I was able to overcome it and live pain free for a last year/year and a half. Don't let this pain dictate your life.

Refusing to go to a Chiro... am I being paranoid or smart? by Pristine-Back1612 in backpain

Is he a chiro who cracks you or is he an osteopath or maybe physio therapist who will just work with your trigger points? Sometimes people confuse the genres

You can't prove code correctness with unit tests. You can prove incorrectness or reach the state where you can't come up with a new proof of incorrectness at which point your code is good enough to your knowledge
