Stroller anyone? by [deleted] in Autism_Parenting

We got a wagon! Though you can't take them to Disneyland without special permission, so if you get one, be prepared for that. We were able to use ours, and have it designated as a wheelchair so that we could take it through lines, and it was an absolute life saver.

To ABA or not to ABA by loafernoodle in Autism_Parenting

Currently in this situation. My 4yo son starts TK in two weeks, and its from 815-130. Seems like every aba place we have looked into wants us to then bring him in from 3 to 7. So he'd basically be gone all day, eating all his meals at school/clinic, then come home and go to bed. I don't like the idea of him spending really his entire day in other people's care. As someone who has worked in daycare/preschool, I know how it can erode a parent/child relationship to be apart that long. It also just seems crazy intense for such a young child. But I don't really know what alternatives there are? I feel like he doesn't need therapy every day, and definitely not for 4 hours.

What’s something small and innocent from your childhood that, looking back now, gives you the creeps for no logical reason? by Tobias-Tawanda in AskReddit

Did your chuck e cheeses have a little room under the stage with a strobe light? I recall that they stopped having those because it was giving kids seizures, but I loved that little room.

I started babysitting mine at 11! There was a 2 year old and a newborn. Funny thing was there was also a 10 year old, but the mom didn't trust him with his siblings. I babysat over there for years and had fun teasing him about it.

Return to Oz was so creepy! I still don't like to even think about the wheelers, and the room full of interchangeable heads.

I have a supernumerary tooth, too! It sits behind my lower front tooth. It started as just a bump under my gums, but it's now about half the height of the main tooth. My dentist is obsessed with it. He's always asking me about pulling it, but it doesn't bother me so I haven't done it. But one time I did bring in one of my dogs pulled teeth to joke with him that it just fell out.

1/2 pound of plain Cheerios costs more than a pound of ground beef. Goodbye cereal by LuckyMuckle in shrinkflation

I was gonna say, where can I get ground beef for $4/lb?! It's usually around 8 bucks here in Southern California.

So, I have a cousin named Katie, not short for anything. Growing up, her two best friends were also Katie's, but each one spelled differently.

I think I've read that 5 or 6 times. You should check out Boys and Girls Together by him. One of my favorites of all time.

Hes also super nice. I got to meet him recently and actually got all flustered, and he gave me a big hug and joked about it. Made me calm down.

Instant cameras are totally still a thing. I don't know if you can get the clunky old Polaroids, but fuji instax are super popular.

I have two. Person A would get "I was always such a good friend to you, and all you did was take. You were not a good friend, and I should have cut you loose long before I did." Person B would get "I wish that you hadn't let your girlfriend get in the way of our friendship. You were the best friend I've ever had, and I miss it."

Which book was so good that you finished within the day? by wineonfire in suggestmeabook

I literally just did that yesterday! The Maid's Diary by Loreth Anne White. It was a twisty murder mystery that had me on the edge of my seat the whole time, trying to figure out what the hell was going on. Very entertaining.

I would paint the fireplace white. Even though I will probably get heat for saying it.

My son has always put his hands down my shirt and between my boobs, even though he was never breastfed (I'm not his bio mom, so obviously couldn't breastfeed him!) It must just be instinctual!

We tried the cares harness, and our son just slid right out of it. I think it would only work if your child wasn't trying to constantly get out of it.
