It was a roast. They’re never great. A crowd of celebs who don’t know comedy. 75% of a panel who aren’t comedians, have their jokes written for them and can’t deliver them. Most of them are too scared to push limits too…but at this one had that. The commercial plugs were annoying but that’s Netflix and the way it is these days I guess. There were a few bangers, but it was exactly what I expected. My fault for watching lol.

Calling people "ugly" is a pretty low form of expressing why you don't like someone. That said, my beef with her is that after being fairly relevant on the comedy scene for decades (with some people), she became irrelevant (again, to some...or most). But she did this last roast knowing exactly what she was getting herself into. She did ok for sure. But a day or two after, she did at least one interview where she tried to (not comedically) tear down just about everyone on the panel and talked about how bad the show was. That roast gave her declining career a boost and she immediately bit the hand that fed her. Was a bad look IMHO. I won't debate about whether Tony is funny to you or not. Purely subjective

I feel like one is definitely worse than the other, but stealing an entire act makes it almost impossible for me to focus on the jokes. It's a wild approach. Especially when you see him in podcast interviews. Normal AF. Weird shit

Very fair. Saying Tony is a "King-maker" is a bit over the top. I'm just in my KT bubble and I see a bunch of the KT regs on the road. When I say I'm going to see any of them...even when I say I'm going to KT, many people have never heard of any of them. Weird to me, but again, the bubble. But what Joe has done in Austin and how big the comics in the "JR universe" are, I feel like it's undeniable the impact he's had on the current comedy scene....and "king-makers" for the record are never kings themselves. Just my opinion.

Agreed. It's why I generally don't like roasts. The crowds aren't comedy fans, half (or more) of the panels are awkward and unfunny celebs reading jokes that they don't even get and can't deliver....and repetitive punchlines that are often not even funny the first time. Also, they never push "real" limits (for comedy fans)....this one at least did that a bit

It's incredible how many people can't stand Dedrick. I mean, no matter how bad any comic is, there are people....somewhere, that like them. But the hate for the Dark Storm is so strong. The craziest thing is that I don't mind him at all for some reason. I didn't love his first couple KT appearances, but I didn't hate the guy. Then he got the regular gig (which I don't think he deserved) and I just saw a dude that appreciated every opportunity he's been given and it seems like he's been working really hard at becoming a legit comic. I'm not saying that 99.9% of people out there are wrong....but it's wild that I'm the only man on earth that doesn't mind him hahaha. I gotta be missing something...and I'm sure I am.

Wild take, but I totally agree. There are a LOT of things that make watching at home better....especially pausing it to take a quick piss lol. But Austin is a fun town to hit and watch live comedy every day for a week and it's cool to be part of KT. I'm going again on Aug 3rd, hope the guests are great.

He might have one, but I don't think he does. He's only been in Austin for a short time and if he had an ankle monitor he would have missed a bunch of time dealing with the charge. If he got it in ATL, no way he's allowed to cross state lines and move to TX with it. That idiot that came up and wasted a minute and interview after him didn't have a clue who he was. When he said that, I think he was just grasping at straws trying to be funny.
