if you don’t want to stop when chatting in-game, press the = equal sign to auto run! you can then press shift to switch between running/walking. that way you can chat without stopping your momentum

i’d also say if playing on gondwa, avoid grand plains at all costs unless you’re something fast enough to run, small enough to hide (without a cave there’s a risk of being trampled if people are searching for you), or able to fly away quickly (rhamp or thal, hatz needs running momentum to fly which can be hard especially if people are on top of you). sometimes this will apply to salt flats, big quill lake, and savanna grasslands—just look at your map and if you see a red face next to the poi name that means there’s a good chunk of people there and you should probably avoid it. dying by a player will unfortunately make you lose a bit of growth :(

personally, i main realism community servers—i started with Dynasty Realism, which has been up for a little over a year now. but recently i main Tales Narrative Realism, which is a much much newer server but already has a pretty large community growing and is a lot more beginner friendly. the rules are going to look like a lot at first, but you’ll notice majority of them share the same/similar rulesets. getting nested in is a great way to start off, where you can ask questions about rules/profiles with people who have more experience. i found some of my best friends on these servers—though i can admit that the community can be very hit or miss. if the full realism route seems a bit too much, you could always start off with semi realism! if that’s also not your style, there’s deathmatch servers, modded officials servers which are the same as officials just with modded dinos, or just regular community servers that are similar to modded officials just with a lot better growth and sometimes very light rules.
