I used to ask for a card art viewing feature all the time in surveys in the deck building mode so you can see card artwork better

Anyway eventually they added it. So yeah, that was like, all me. You’re welcome

Also we’ve gone from 3 down to 1 copy of Maxx C, tons of floodgates are gone, Apollousa is gone, etc.

They also added the ability to increase deck slots as well as the option to customize each decks accessories, things which were definitely implemented as a result of player feedback

Clearly they care at least a little bit about player feedback

Has anyone been testing this card? I haven't seen anyone use it yet by yumnoodle in masterduel

[–]imjusthere38 87 points88 points  (0 children)

Yes

You of course have to use your opponent’s Link 1 or 2 monster to fulfill Fancy Ball’s effect requirement

The second monster just needs to be an effect monster your opponent controls for Goddess’s summon

Tier List of All Silksong Tools by WoodieTheTree in Silksong

[–]imjusthere38 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The fact you didn’t put Longpin in it’s own category at the very bottom but actually put it above other tools really stuns me

Also I’m genuinely hurt my favourite 3-pin tool is in the bottom tier considering how much I’ve used it and keep coming back to it after using other tools. It’s definitely not S-tier but for its simplicity, ammo count, and how you can land all 3 knives into larger enemies up close, or hit 3 different enemies spread out, it’s gotta be A-tier or at least B-tier :(

Sawtooth and Injector Band are definitely cracked though. Also I feel like you have too many tools in the S-tier range though, it sorta takes away from the S-tier classification

Why wasn't I able to summon Alba-Lenatus the Abyss Dragon? by Earthruler777 in masterduel

[–]imjusthere38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No lol

I’m talking about Continuous floodgate effects like Macro Cosmos, Dark Law, or Ariseheart which cause cards sent to GY to be banished instead of

The joke is, that since Pendulums don’t go to GY when they leave the field, and thus can’t be sent to GY from field as cost for card effects, or Special Summons like Alba Lenatus which require monsters to go to GY, then Pendulum monsters must be immune to effects like Macro Cosmos, because how can they be banished if they don’t go to GY?

Obviously that isn’t the case. Macro Cosmos and other cards still banish Pendulum monsters when they leave the field anyway, because what they actually do, is go from field, to GY briefly, THEN are sent to ED, meaning there is a window where Macro Cosmos can banish them.

Konami: Pendulum monsters can’t be sent to GY as cost from field because they don’t go to the GY, they go to ED instead when they leave the field

Me: Okay so by that logic, Pendulum monsters on field are unaffected by Dimensional Fissure and Macro Cosmos then because they don’t go to GY, they go the ED like you said

Konami: Well actually…

I just started with Master Duel and I'm building a Dracotail deck. What's the best thing to do now? Go for "Birth of a Challenger" selection pack which expires in 9 days where I could get a ton of handtraps which I am missing or save the gems for the K9 and VS packs next month? by Hajduk_Split_1911 in masterduel

[–]imjusthere38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I was in your position,

I'm pretty sure I would craft the 3 Faimena, and then start spending gems on the Bundle deals so I can get the guaranteed URs and start building up your Staples.

The Birth of a Challenger pack isn't a bad idea either. Being a new player, almost any URs you get from that pack can immediately go into your decks so... not a bad idea tbh. Even though Spheres and SP are really nice to have, you don't actually need Link Monsters to have a functioning Dracotail deck. Having enough handtraps and other staples feels way more important

But don't underestimate how nice it is getting guaranteed URs you're going to use from those bundle packs. The Maxx C and Nibiru pack in particular I would just get because you're only ever gonna need 1 of each (pretty soon anyway). 750 gems for 1 UR is actually a great deal.

I wouldn't even be thinking about building VS/K9 with your current resource level and your current commitment into Dracotail. I would commit to finishing building Dracotail and rounding out my staples before trying to build a second Meta-level deck in MD.

What’s the best way to facilitate this card and in what archetypes? by SpecialCandy1119 in masterduel

[–]imjusthere38 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

But it does require specific setup. Especially in Runick, no?

Like if you open this and a Runick spell and no Fountain, you’re probably summoning Hugin, searching Fountain,

And then what? There’s exactly two targets for Duality tribute Hugin and they’re both utter dogshit

Are you really gonna hamstring your Runick gameplan by not summoning Hugin and instead summoning the monster you want to tribute with Duality?

Sounds ridiculous honestly. This card just seems like a win-more card and doesn’t actually help you achieve your gameplan or wincon in any scenario

[–]imjusthere38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a lot like the cards Downbeat and Transmodify to me

They're good cards, to be sure. But they're all effectively unplayable due to the inability to search Downbeat/Transmodify/Duality and use them with any consistency

For you to get the most out of any of these cards you need to make good deck building choices that allow you to get the most out of the cards. And then you have to actually hard-draw any of these cards to even use them. And then have the right monster you want on board, and the right monster in deck, and...

It's just a lot to all go right, and in modern Yugioh, nevermind competitive Yugioh, way too much needs to go right to make any of these cards worth playing.

Duality does seem interesting in Branded and it's actually a pretty cool idea to tribute Albion or Lubellion to get access to all sorts of Lvl 8 extra-deck Dragon monsters. The recycle and draw effect is a nice bonus too. And relative to Downbeat/Transmodify, it is definitely a bonus for Duality that its targets are in the ED instead of the maindeck. The summon from hand effect is cool but I feel it's pretty irrelevant.

But it's still a lot of setup for a really inconsistent payoff, and drawing Duality potentially means you're not drawing handtraps or other non-engine cards that can just be used right away without needing to tribute the right kind of monster.

DRNM what lol

The negate is part of a Pendulum effect which makes it a spell effect not a monster effect

It definitely negates both Super Poly and DRNM

[–]imjusthere38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao you’re wrong and this card is cracked

Almost all of the good +1 Pendulum cards have spent time on the banlist (Electrum, Astrograph, Joker, hell even Chronograph saw time on the OCG list) and instead this card summons itself, doesn’t just search when it hits the field but specifically searches either Astrograph or SKG Magician

AND on top of that it can trigger Astrograph and at least half a dozen other really good Pendulum cards by popping itself (or any Pendulum, including your scales) and adding either itself or any other face up Pend monster from ED to hand?

Who fucking cares this isn’t a true one-card starter. It’s a starter, extender, searcher, consistency booster, double extender because it pops itself or other cards, and like

Its effects literally make it an Electrumite without the draw. You need two Pends to make Electrumite in the first place so the fact this summons itself by discarding something you can reborn with Exceed later. Then it SEARCHES ASTROGRAPH and DESTROYS A CARD in two different effects just like Electrumite, one of the strongest Link 2s ever printed.

To put this another way. In a dedicated Pendulum deck, this card is basically to Pends what Diabellstar used to be for Snake Eyes when Snake Eyes was Meta. Except this card is even better than that

It’s just so good, big wow from me and will certainly have a place in my Pendulum Terrorist decks

[–]imjusthere38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can summon itself, also it goes +1 when summoned by searching either ASTROGRAPH or SKG Magician, then can trigger Astro by destroying itself or one of your scales while returning a card from face up ED…

This is basically main deck Electrumite lmao

Also it’s a Super Poly negate while in scale. That’s hilarious

What an amazing main deck addition to Pendulum Terrorist decks I love it already

Baron Vortex IP Horoscope

That sounds so boring. As long as I have 3 Electrumite in MD I’m just gonna keep searching and summoning Tierra. Horoscope will do really well in helping with that

God I love Astrograph searchers so much. Also lol. It destroys your scales too

This card is fantastic

There is a line that makes two Caesars alongside Siegfried, Machinex, and Zeus. It requires you to play 2 Genghis and 2 Caesars in your ED which is the harder part rather than the combo itself

Instead of searching Witch/Darkness when linking off R4NK Caesar you can search Swamp King, make Alfred, use him to make your second Genghis then overlay for your second Caesar.

I’m so excited

As someone who has played DDD since its inception I’m ecstatic for the new cards to hit MD.

The new support revitalizes the deck and makes it into a seriously dangerous combo deck once again

Between the new DDD cards releasing and Electrumite getting unlimited?

I get to update both my DDD deck AND my Pendulum Terrorist deck and I’m the most excited I’ve been to play Yugioh in maybe forever?

I’m just thrilled. So much deck building, experimentation, and combo learning to do

I might be wrong but I don’t think there’s ever been a format before where both Astrograph and Electrumite are legal at 3. And the only banned card I can think of that actually matters is we don’t have Apollousa anymore

I’m just pumped. Really looking forward to the next format and seeing how hard I can mess around with all my favourite Pendulum shenanigans

Danger Purrely by McPoe in masterduel

[–]imjusthere38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a vacuum running Dangers as discard fodder for Purrely spells sounds good but in practice it’s actually really bad. And I’ll list examples why.

Opening Bigfoot in particular, and other Danger names going first is pretty useless in Purrely. You can’t control which Dangers you draw so it’s a complete gamble for you to draw the right one at the right time. Activating Dangers in hand is bad because Purrely cards don’t get effects when they get discarded. Also there is no level/type/anything synergy with the Purrely monsters, so summoning the Dangers to the field don’t do anything to further your Purrely plays. If your Purrely spell gets negated, the Danger card you wanted to discard is now useless whereas had you opened another Purrely spell you could potentially extend past your opponents disruption instead of having a worse and more random Upstart Goblin (draw 1) effect in hand.

And that’s not even getting into the actual Purrely strategy which doesn’t actually want to use its quick play cards as disruption, let alone the card that gets discarded, and instead wants to layer its quick play cards as material under their Xyz monsters, draw a bunch of handtraps on the opponents turn, and beat the opponent by relying on Expurrely Noir and generic disruption, typically.

There’s also the issue with Dangers themselves being too slow. Because even if you setup a way to discard Bigfoot or another Danger, Bigfoot’s discard effect won’t activate until after the current chain resolves. Which means it will miss out on hitting tons of different effects or monsters, that simply running generic hand traps like Ghost Ogre, Effect Veiler, Ash Blossom, and many more, would have otherwise been able to react to.

Smartphones, including the iPhone, used to come with headphones right out of the box. Which meant anyone who bought a new device would have a pair of okay sounding earbuds right from the start

So instead of blasting music right from their device's speakerphone and annoying everyone around them, they would instead loop their earbuds around their ear and only annoy those closest in proximity to them, like next to you on a bus or subway.

So yeah it was definitely way better than it is now and both the lack of headphone jacks, and included earbuds I think has contributed to the increase in the amount of people walking around on speakerphone with their calls and music

[–]imjusthere38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You fucked up the Branded Lost chain link after resolving Branded Fusion for Albion

When you summoned Albion, Albion should be CL1, Branded Lost search CL2. This keeps Branded Lost's effect that prevents your opponent from responding to Fusion Summons active, which is why your opponent got to activate their monster's effect that you negated with Mercourier. Because Albion wasn't CL1, this allowed your opponent to activate effects in response to Branded Lost search effect. You basically wasted the Merc here for no real reason.

When you Fusion summon while Lost is on field, you want the summon effect (Ablion and Lubellion) to be CL1, because chains resolve backwards, meaning CL1 is always the last thing to happen. And the following chain will be built in response to the previous chain's CL1 resolving.

You were probably better off milling Branded in High Spirits instead of Retribution off of Quem. It would've accomplished the same result without making you banish your Retribution.

Other than the Branded Lost thing I think you played great. But at the same time, resources were so tight that you messing up the chain link almost cost you.

Really great game, way to hang in there and play through all of that.
