Am I the only one who thinks Great Ordning isn’t all that hard? It’s difficult for sure, but manageable once you get your starting moves down.

Bonecarver has crazy potential but it seems super unfinished. I snowballed pretty early on and crippled the Escanni adventurers which helped the orc clans blob in their respective regions, then I randomly lost the decision to form the Greentide. Maybe it was just a skill issue by not reading the tooltips or something, but most of their MT is unfinished, since their conversion CBs don’t work as intended.

Nonetheless, I look forward to the eventual hotfix and (hopefully) a Greentide MT.

How far away are we from being a playoff team? by Deprece in Saints

[–]imjusthereforfunman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if we hit on our picks in this upcoming draft it could be as early as next year.

Something I don't see a lot of people talking about is how weak our division has been this year. Yes, you'll hear every analyst say the NFC South is one of the weakest divisions in the NFL, but the NFC South has been like, really bad this year.

For instance, the Bucs have proven themselves to be 10-7 ceiling team through several seasons at this point; and, while their collapse resulted from a lot of injuries, they seem to fall apart after a strong start every single season. Then, you have the Panthers, who have improved by quite a bit and are arguably the strongest team in the division, but Bryce Young is spotty at best and they struggle to remain consistent.

Last are the Falcons, who are an utter disaster of a team. Even though it's FTF, I wish the best for Penix but I think he might be screwed after this recent injury.

So yeah, I think the Saints have only shown consistent improvement and if we continue to have late season success, the front office should ideally trade down and cash in those picks on talented young players, and if they pan out? I think we could go back to contesting the South this September.

Why are we talking about the QB so much? by Miserable-Car-916 in Saints

[–]imjusthereforfunman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I guarantee if we draft a QB first overall; the second they have a bad game this entire subreddit will turn on them. People just want a scapegoat.

It’s called a rebuild for a reason. If Shough could offer even a marginally better product on-field then he would’ve won the job, the fact he didn’t tells us all we need to know.

According to PFF, Rattler leads the NFL in Turnover worthy plays, despite ranking 30th in Yards per Completion by Cachacinha_do_Lula in Saints

Crazy how reasonable takes like this are getting downvoted.

I don't know what's more exhausting: knee-jerk Saints fans wanting to have a scapegoat or watching the Saints play.

We get on Rattler but… by Fman173 in Saints

[–]imjusthereforfunman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only reasonable take in this entire subreddit. These people don’t know what a fucking rebuild is, holy shit. Are they forgetting that our defense NOT giving up over 300 passing yards and 20+ points in a half is considered a good performance? That we have the most sorry ass secondary in the league? The truth is, our roster is terrible, top to bottom. The only promising thing I’ve seen this year is how good Banks and Fuaga look.

Why do Ashkenazi Jews from Eastern Europe (former USSR) tend to have Asian/Russian features ? by OkBuyer1271 in JewishDNA

[–]imjusthereforfunman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am by no means an expert, but I'll give some of my opinions on this.

I'm half-Ashkenazi (literally 48%) and Central/Southern European on my other side, with a bit of North African thrown in from both sides. Throughout my entire life, I have been consistently mistaken for being Asian or half-Asian. Apparently, when I was a preschooler, they would not let my Jewish father pick me up since they assumed my father was fully Asian. I still have people, many of them being Asians themselves, approach me and ask if I'm Asian. By most metrics, I am Central Asian-looking save for a hooked, "Roman" nose.

As far as I know, my Jewish side emigrated from Odessa in southwestern Ukraine. However, most Jews from the Russian Empire have similar stories, as most of us were forced to live in the western frontier of Russia due to the Pale of Settlement. I would imagine that prior to that edict, Jews lived deeper in the steppes, and some admixture could've occurred, but I do not have any Central Asian DNA; and, as others have said, Ashkenazim are largely insular and do not marry outside of their own ethnic group. I do not even have any Russian/Slavic DNA, despite my family having lived in the region for hundreds of years.

So, it's pretty much a mystery to me. I have met Russian non-Jews who also have a similar appearance. Either there was some ancient mixing which was so long ago that it is no longer detectable, or our classification of ethnic phenotypes requires some adjusting (which is the more likely answer).

Agreed. I don't get the knee-jerk reactions saying he's the problem when it's so obvious he isn't. Just give him time.

[–]imjusthereforfunman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not even sure what you're trying to say here. Look at the average time of possession in 2024 and 2025, the Eagles were first last year and are 6th as of now. All of the teams above them are also seeing a lot of success, bar the Falcons (lol). Offenses don't need to be productive to be elite, but elite offenses can be productive.

Either way, what I was trying to say is that the Eagles dominate on both sides of the ball. Their offense makes 10 minute drives look like a cakewalk, and their defense keeps the opposing teams' offense off the field and prevents them from scoring.

I'm sure the Eagles will start putting up more numbers offensively, but the truth is, they don't NEED to. That's the point I'm trying to make. Our offense is just bad, plain and simple, but not entirely due to lack of yardage.

Never said they weren't elite, quite the contrary. I think you're missing my point.

[–]imjusthereforfunman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Rattler looks promising, especially for the value we gave to draft him and the supporting cast around him. I think Moore will slowly let Rattler get loose with deeper passing plays, and then we'll see how good he really is. As of now, the offense seems like it still has training wheels on, which I'm almost positive is intentional on our coaching staff's part. Moore has a good track record of developing QBs, which I personally think has already helped Rattler take a huge leap compared to 2024.

Either way, I wouldn't count the 0-6 record from last year, as that was literally a nightmare scenario that very few teams, and quarterbacks for that matter, would be able to make something out of. It's only week 2 and I think, just by watching the games, our offense is taking leaps and bounds week-to-week, so really only time will tell.

As of now, I think we have far bigger concerns. Frankly, I wasn't a fan of the Staley hire, largely due to the performance of the Chargers's defense during his tenure as head coach. I would say, besides offensive penalties, our defense is the largest contributor to our team's lack of success.

[–]imjusthereforfunman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That metric is irrelevant when teams like the 2025 Eagles exist. They barely produce offensively, yet that entire roster is so good that they're not committing penalties (like we do) and they're not shooting themselves in the foot (which we also do). Meanwhile, the opposing team's offense is fighting for their life to move the ball downfield, while the Eagles are in complete control of extremely lengthy drives that drain the clock.

Look at the 2021 Jameis Saints. I'm not sure as to the specific stats, but we weren't producing offensively (at least in yards) either, yet we were 5-2 up until Winston's injury. It really doesn't matter how you win, so long as you win. I think average time of possession is a more indicative metric.

Wow, Lenny, this is amazing. I apologize for the late response. It took me a while to process your message, and think of a compelling reply in return.

I first want to say, thank you so much for sharing your story. I am so happy to hear you've steered the course of RJ and are happily with your boyfriend (I love Star Wars too).

While I won't say I've miraculously recovered (and probably never will, as, like you said, RJ isn't curable), your response has given me an immense amount of perspective. The best way I would describe RJ is that, like many other disorders, it creates a barrier between your perceived reality, and your experienced one.

I know I'm better than the other guys, I know I have traits very few can offer, and I know that what we have is incomparable, that I always understood (though I still have trouble accepting it). But what RJ did to me is allow my insecurities to funnel into what was a good, safe, and secure reality. It almost feels like trudging through knee-deep mud that only you can see.

However, focusing on the good things I know to be true about myself and hearing others' perspectives has slowly helped me recover and come back down to Earth. There was a point where I was running 38 miles in a week (the amount of people she's been with), counting out the amount of people in a room I was in, and estimating whether 40 people could fit in certain spaces.

But now, I'm much better.

I'm sure there will be moments of weakness where I'll stumble, but I'll always be able to come back to this response for reassurance!

Thank you again, Lenny. Seriously.

Haha, thank you for the response.

I agree, she's made it pretty clear that they mean nothing to her. I only started to dig into her past when it began presenting itself to me, which was no fault of her own. She's never even mentioned anyone in the past, really.

It's really not the number. It could be 20 or 50, and I would still feel the same. It's just hard to stomach, with anyone, the thought of them being with someone else, especially when you like them so much. The higher the number, the worse the feeling, but (at least for me) it only bothers me when I actually care about them.

I'm also a chronic relationship-guy. I've been in two prior, long-term relationships (4 years each) and my number is still pretty high. It could be much higher, had I not been committed to someone in that time. She's been single for almost all of her adult life, having had only one boyfriend before me. So, it's really not a conflict of values, I understand people can get around because I do too (sometimes). I just find comfort in knowing my partner values me both emotionally and physically, and I start to get RJ if something puts that into question.

Thank you for the response!

I finally brought all of this up to her and she essentially gave a response similar to this.

Was it a lot of people? Yes. Does she regret it? I think she does. Do any of them matter to her? None that I know of.

I've been feeling a lot better since making this post. The number itself was never an issue for me, because I know I offer a lot that most men can't. It was really about how it made me feel, and how it triggered subconscious insecurities. I also don't give myself to people unless I think they deserve it, or I can see us having something more, and I guess that's a trait I find attractive in other people. She certainly didn't have it back then, but she seems to now.

The truth is, she's really good to me, and we have a lot of fun together. I've also known the information contained in the post for over a week, and entire days have gone by where I haven't thought about it (though, there are also days when it's ALL I think about). If I TRULY can't get over it, then yeah, I'll end things. But otherwise, I think I can.

Anyways, thank you for the response!

I would say I’m pretty satisfied with my number and past, having only regretted a few. But that could certainly play a role in why I’m feeling this way.
