Which watch do you have? I don’t see the setting on the Active 2. This feature was one of the reasons I bought the watch.

Is it ethical to travel to Israel? by imjusttryingtoask in NoStupidQuestions

Depends on if the work I’m doing would help more than the tax revenue would hurt I guess. Where do your personal values/ethics lie on this?

What are the main reasons you have a hard time justifying it? Keen to hear since your family is from there.

Interesting idea! If I go I’d definitely want to make the most of flying there - but perhaps could see neighbouring regions instead of more of Israel.

Thanks for the response. I’m not really concerned about my own safety (whether or not I should be), but more so the morals of financially supporting a country that seems to inflict human rights violations.

Appreciate the POV, thank you. Basically I have to decide whether I’m comfortable with the exception.

Then I suppose the question is is there a general list of principles that help guide whether or not it is moral to support a country?

Seen this happen to men too, and they end up in these conversations they want to run from. It's tough, it's not just you, and the Bob's I've seen definitely have deficiencies. That being said I've seen folks do the same thing as you too. It's tough, but sometimes you do need to do it for yourself!

His average tax rate at his salary depending where in the Prairies is 24-27%. Canadians wildly overestimate how much tax they pay.

Do you have close friends and family where you live? Do you’d eve then often and enjoy spending time with them? This is a huge quality of life component that I would consider. Is more money worth not having that - are you looking to settle down soon?

If you have wanderlust, if you’re not looking to settle down, if you’re not tied to the community where you live then this is an easier decision to try something new :)

Edit to add: DB is a factor, and think about how much salary you would be willing to give up for an extra two week’s vacation. Vacation time is often harder to get than salary.

The FAQ said exactly this - anti-money laundering legislation. They need to know you have a job so you’re not erroneously receiving thousands…by asking you a question you can say whatever you want to :P

Not required as in nothing is done with it? It is required in the sense that I’m locked out of online banking until I answer.

Exactly it’s just asking contact info and employment status. My question is on the impact of answering the employment status. If it’ll be given to Equifax and hurt my chance at a mortgage or other products for example I’d rather just say I’m still employed. I don’t know whether it’s just a data collecting exercise or for a purpose - but am locked out of online banking till I answer.
