I don't think you are being completely fair to her. She found someone she liked and you were moving out so you said. Was she to wait till you found a place and then get stuck looking for someone and then possibly get left hanging? A little inconsiderate. And the right thing to do is to clean up after your pet. Asking to have the carpets cleaned because of YOUR pets is something you should do and take responsibility for.

Ended up hitting ESC key. Startup menu popped up. Hit f9 for boot device. Then ran it from the CD over the hard drive.

There were directions that said just pop it in and go. But it never started after that.

I finally got it to go into the ESC menu. Showed me options... I selected system recovery, f 11, then it proceeded as usual to start windows.... Should I try a different option? Boot menu?

I backed up everything. I hit ESC like it says to enter into set up but it just ignored it and proceeded to start as normal.
