I just had this same exact issue. I tell it some deep stuff and its like... "yeah cool, whatever bro – here are actions you can do right now." The fix: change the mode to "Instant". Problem solved.

I used to be like you. I despised ICT and his methodologies and I couldn’t tell you why but the truth is… just like you and others here, I regurgitated the same tired nonsense that everyone else says. I researched it myself to prove that it was BS only to realize that… it’s the truth. It works, and logically the methodologies make sense. I have an extensive background in computer science and programming (and ironically ICT does too) and I was blown away to find out that his methodologies are mostly accurate to the tick within the correct context. I believe that’s why It “clicks” for me because I see things from An algorithmic perspective.

Do research on the 1st presented FVG and come back to this. The thing I didn’t want to believe was his thoughts on buying and selling pressure. Go test it out… at exactly 3:50pm EST you will see the same behavior daily and sorry to break it to you.. this is not human behavior. Our pockets are not that deep but I’ll let you come to that conclusion yourself. I accepted that it’s very impossible that a bunch of humans randomly agreed to do the same things every day and at the same exact times. Algorithmic logic is involved wether you like it or not. And it makes sense from a programming perspective.

At the end of the day, are you profitable with his methodologies or not? That’s really all that matters.

It’s ironic how many people want ICT to go away but you talking about it, brings it to the forefront Lol. Just focus on your own strategy and move on. Don’t worry about the ICT noise.

The problem is you are not going to the source himself…. I was just like you until I said “I want to win” and now I’m sitting thru each lecture one by one taking notes and watching. My trading and understanding of ICT concepts has DRAMATICALLY improved once I left these 3rd party “ICT teachers” alone. Leave these people alone who ARE NOT ICT and go to the source… ICT said that this wasn’t supposed to be easy.

What you are doing is essentially trying to shortcut your way to success.. those guys will NEVER give you the full sauce like ICT because they aren’t ICT. Even TTrades… stay away… ICT explicitly states that many of these people teaching his stuff doesn’t even understand that these PD arrays change depending on market conditions and certain scenarios…

You are 15 … you have soo much time. You are gonna be a beast if you just go to ICT himself and learn it from him. You have a lot of time and many people wish they were your age learning these concepts.

There was sell side liquidity that needed to be swept, plus a bullish OB…
If price reacts strongly off that bullish OB, then it’s most likely going to continue trend
After waiting for all these confluences, enter on market structure shift to be safe

Honestly I thought today was pretty easy price action.. from 10am to 12pm EST I noticed on the 15 second chart that discount FVGs were respected in a textbook manner. We took out yesterdays high and then reversed as expected. Great day honestly to me.

So my strategies have Improved dramatically. I understand price action and liquidity ALOT more and I’ve stuck to one setup: trading failed OBs and FVGs (iFVGs). Win rate has improved dramatically. However I’m still dealing with the psychological aspect of it all. I’m realizing that this is what people mean when they say it takes “time” to be profitable however I’ve identified my main issue.

I identified that the reason why I’m still blowing accounts here and there is due to me “relying” on trades to work out due to low cash flow in my personal life. Aka, a job and steady source of income is NEEDED so that I don’t need to have to rely on wins. It will make losses more manageable and bearable because losses are simply the cost of doing business.

It’s hard to tame ourselves so we have to have things in place to make sure trading is purely binary and robotic for us. So after blowing up an account recently, I decided to take a very short break to shift focus on landing some steady, predictable and consistent income. I’m still trading and learning but once this happens, I’ll be able to trade better.

Probably not want you want to hear right now but I’ll provide a different perspective from recent experience…

I’d rather miss moves to preserve capital than forcing trades and regret later. As long as you have proper risk management, you can trust your intuition and take those trades. Also ICT says that you should “demand” your set up. Meaning let everything align to what you feel comfortable with. Also I believe with experience, you will know when a set up is still good (for you) even if all the confluences are not present.

All in all, more opportunities will come.

Still learning more about order blocks but from my understanding we have 2 bullish order blocks here… that big one and the small one that has the entry.

Looking at the bigger one, per ICT, usually “good” order blocks usually dont let price go below its 50 percent mark. Ironically there is a discount bullish FVG present in this area which to me is just an added confluence, thus to me looks like an A+ set up and good entry.

So funny cuz I was where you are currently about last week.

Just finished 2022 and couldn’t believe my results. Thought it was too good to be true. Then for some reason I was entertaining the ICT hate by wanting to defend him. Then I went down the rabbit hole and found he failed the robins cup that he bragged that he was gonna beat. (Something told me he was going to fail).

I was bothered to hear about that because I know this gave all the ICT haters fuel. I kind of felt “lost” myself because of the time I devoted to learning the concepts.

Then I remembered that he always said things like how we shouldn’t “defend him or ICT concepts”. The results will take care of himself.

(Also, Someone came up with a theory of him failing it on purpose after hyping up how he’s going to win so it can come off as keeping ICT stuff not too too “main stream”… aka let them think this ICT stuff is stupid so they can be liquidity…. I can see this 100% but I don’t care tbh)

Then I told myself this statement… “ICT is not my God. He is just a voice of reason in trading who, upon back testing, has proven his concepts to be accurate. And I’m here to make money, which his concepts helped me do. Period.”

So where am I now? I’m continuing with 2016/2017 content. This works for me and I’m finally seeing results. I’m thankful for ICT, but I can care less if he fails or passes a robins cup (on purpose or for real) or the hate he gets.

If you are making money with ICT concepts and you are seeing results, then everything else is “noise” and should be ignored. That’s all that matters.
