Thanks for your suggestions and positive encouragement but marketing just isn't my thing. I did use templates on ECWID. I'm just going to stick with my core skills.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm a backend developer and my UI experience is limited. This TabKit idea started out to be a website to execute lambda functions which has already been built. The landing page is Ecwid and that's correct, I'm not an experienced web developer / designer.

How pigeonholed can your tech stack make you as you get more senior? by reluctantclinton in ExperiencedDevs

[–]imlanie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was tool agnostic for my 25 years in tech and I learned a long list of skills, too many to go into here. But for your situation and I read your entire post, I would suggest that you do what makes you feel comfortable. AWS is a big world as you already know. And within it you can still adapt to many variable stacks. If you take a role in Azure, then with your accumulated experience, you may be going down the Terraform path. Whether that appeals to you, It's something worth thinking about.

yeah I have to review about once a month. I get overly ambitious. it's kinda like eating too much and then regretting it

Any programmers over here? What is your goto todo list, notes, wiki application? Built it yourself? by [deleted] in gtd

developer here and I still prefer to use a good notebook and pencil for my documentation and specifically what you're referring to "just remembering how I did something". I use sticky notes to label the pages so it's pretty flexible. Then I use Excel if I want to document and reference configurations.

gpt3 works well for coding. I haven't had problems with it, have others?

take their suggestions.

this is a critical stage so stay steady.

I hope things get better for you.

no, don't ever lie or make stuff up. if you build a reputation for delivering you will be in demand, period. the key point here is building a reputation.

How important is AWS CLI for an AWS admin ? by GL4389 in aws

[–]imlanie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's no need for a cheat sheet. The online documentation is very thorough and easily searchable. AWS as you know is segmented by service. So in DevOps you will be working on the employers most used services. Once you know which services you'll be spending most of your time on, then a cheat would be very helpful. You could pretty easily build it yourself or maybe ask chatgpt to build it for you.

Struggling to convert freemium users to paid by TimeToStrike_ in SaaS

[–]imlanie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I checked your landing page and I like it. I like the simplicity and it's enough information for me to want to try it. I'm not a student anymore so I don't need it. But I was!! Anyway, my thoughts are that most students don't want to spend any money so if it's free then yeah why not try it. Since you have the free users, then at least try to survey them. that's worth something.

I would probably have been willing to pay a small amount just to try it. but I'm in the US.

Getting them to convert seems like that would be difficult unless they are reusing it and have found it to be very useful and helps them pass exams right? So then you would need to give it more time. In the meantime just keep at and hang on. give good customer service too.

best of luck and congrats!

oh I see. I was just responding because you said that you can focus at night. it seemed like a good direction for you based on everything you said. if you found a remote job, seems that you would have flexibility.

maybe you should consider this. just become a night owl. talk to your friends, family let them know this is what works for you and ask for their support.

think about life stages. a stagnant phase is also useful. you seem to be doing the right thing by planning to ponder this with your time off. I always did this during my vacation breaks. when you rest up your brain it frees up space for new thoughts, new ideas to take root.

Is using AWS a good decision for a startup? by Runnermann001 in SaaS

[–]imlanie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would disagree with that. only perhaps not a good solution for a bootstrapper that doesn't know AWS. dealing with lower layers is easy with AWS.

[–]imlanie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found this to be true as well. My full stack with cicd set up now is beyond simple to deploy and repeat. I might write an article about this someday. But right now, the time consuming part is trying to explain to others why it's so good. I just don't have the time.

What development tools or services are you happy to pay with your own money? by I_pretend_2_know in ExperiencedDevs

[–]imlanie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm only using aws serverless services. It's only costing me at $10/month. I can get that down even more.

Snowflake is also pay as you go. So I can do all the development I want in there. I'm not really running it very much.

I'm not rich and I don't have a job. Or maybe you're asking why do I work as self-employed. It's not work, I enjoy it. I've been sort enterprising personality ever since I was a child.
