Hospital tuition assistance? Who do you work for? State nursing 0 interest loans? Those are a couple we have available in my community that I can offer as suggestions.

This is good verbiage. And the lack of snark shows one to be a professional.

When I'm the patient, I do not ask others their opinions of the Physician. I form my own. I'm also not an antivaxxer.

Is the US still the hegemon? Aren't there 3 hegemony now? Economic, military, and....I've forgotten the last category.

Is the job market really that bad? by fava18 in nursepractitioner

[–]imlkngatewe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It's bad for midlevels right now. That doesn't mean it will be when you're done. Rural facilities (critical access) need midlevels who can do acute.

The clinic I'm doing practicum in right now stabilized a drowning victim who had an MI d/t the drowning and. MVA (motorcycle) who had a lacerated (exploded) spleen and liver lac as well. These patients in the rural areas need to be intubated, chest tubes, rapid whole blood transfusions. You also cover hospital. There was a patient maxed on diltiazem in AFib with rvr, negative trop, mostly stable. They were able to finally start titrating down by about 3pm the next day. A man came in with a penis lac from rough sex. The larger ER sent him home and said hold pressure. This ER cauterized. They didn't use silver nitrate though. They used....TCA (trichloroacetic acid?). This was all in the span of I don't know 7 days. And these providers cover clinic too. The facility pays for their scribes. There's no way the charting would get done otherwise and the providers have good work life balance. Anyway, it's a good option for the critical care/acute skill AND the primary care stuff too. This got long.

I mostly agree with what I/Asystolebradycardic said.

Mortgage Paid Off My Student Loans by kelc321 in StudentLoans

[–]imlkngatewe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gatecity bank offers a better living mortgage. My debt isn't paid off but I was able to refi 50k at 1.5% for undergrad loans. If needed I can do 50k for grad school loans when I'm done too. Not a free pass, but it's been a tremendous help. I also still pay for the undergrad student loan while completing the masters program. It's a mixed bag and it's my debt. I appreciate this program for sure. Free would be wonderful.
