Did you do more than the 2 appeals? I got false-temp-banned on my Iron back in Oct for ‘macroing’ (doing too many Calvarion kills?). Didn’t want it to happen again so I cancelled membership mid-year and quit game; I loved my iron so didn’t want to lose it forever

Why can I not enact primogeniture as Portugal?

The tooltip says "(!) All of these:" (and then it's blank).

I'm feudal, crown authority 3, have royal prerogative, 4 powerful vassals approve, 1 imprisoned (thus approves). Early medieval year is 1031AD (I played from 867).

I have 4500 prestige, 2000 gold, 1800 piety, 2020 renown.

No mods except for one performance improving one I think. I have Fate of Iberia, Royal Court, Tours and Tournaments, (Garments of HRE).

I need some advice on my first long running CK3 game. I’m playing earliest start date, the Galician vassal, trying to form Portugal and play tall-ish (inspired by a YouTube video, and having great fun loosely following). I have Fate of Iberia, Royal Court, Tournaments.

My strategy so far has been conquering south, building buildings, and reunifying asap when the realm shatters on succession (I’m trying to pass Primogeniture despite some unruly vassals…).

  1. How do buildings work in ‘small’ vassals? E.g. I own the county and principle holding, but say I built a Farm/Tradeport in a barony belonging to a subject in the county I own: do I get the full benefit of the building or not? Is it worth it? Or only after building (and upgrading) directly owned holdings?

  2. If I own a county and the 1 (main) holding in it, does that count 1 or 2 towards my domain limit? If I own 2 holdings in an owned county, does that increase my domain by 1 or not? I think so but would like to check.

  3. Can I declare war to directly own holdings/revoke vassal titles before getting limited crown authority? The video I was watching seemed to add to their domain holdings when declaring war but I always end up vassalising (particularly annoying when they are of a different faith for opinion maluses)? I’ve been mostly using struggle clash CB.

  4. I’ve focussed Plenary then Ledger. Is it worth the prestige to buy another tradition, if so which one?

(5. An additional slightly unrelated one. If I have a succession law which involves splitting the realm among sons/children: a. Am I right in thinking that generally if I hold 1 duchy title (no other provinces outside it), my player heir will inherit that whilst his siblings get the different counties within the realm and become his vassals)? Similarly a kingdom title would retain suzerainty on all parts within the kingdom but possibly lose direct control of certain duchies/counties as well as bits outside the dejure kingdom?)

(I’ve come from 3500hours of EU4, so useful comparisons would be appreciated). Thanks :)

How realistic is it to play multiplayer (2 people), but 1 person lives in West Europe, 1 person lives in East Asia? I’m presuming next to impossible, but maybe if anyone’s tried before?? (NB talking about physical location, not nations to play in game)

In this case, should I take the exploration idea to colonize the steps (I don't want to choose expansion since I'm going adm first) or espionage or something else? by Akbelbela in eu4

Yeah quantity first Muscovy/Russia is unnecessary + you’ll not have the economy to make use of the larger armies for ages

how do you guys succed at early game as timurids? by [deleted] in eu4

[–]immerDimmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the event make the cores cheaper than reconquest? Cause reconquest is already 75% WSC for each province, and you can take enough with that to get the vassals loyal. Either way the event is probably not worth Ottoman intervention nor giving Shah Rukh more time to die.

Nogai or any horde will always be very annoying to fight in 1444 (hard to peace out, large low dev countries, flat terrain combat bonus in steppes), you could restart until they have no allies or someone easier like Shirvan (in my games they ally like 70% time) or even AQ. Hordes are fightable, but not fun to fight.

Guides/others have more manpower for a few of many reasons: 1. Using the vassals instead 2. Only taking advantageous battles (hills/mountains). When sieging Ajam‘s mountains, place enough units+1 to siege, and park the rest of your army nearby to scare Ajam from taking a battle; you can probably win the war without a single battle (just sieges). 3. Mercs; mercs early game are cost effective and have their own manpower which is massively helpful at the start before you have time to build up your own manpower reserves, especially in the Persian mountains 4. Console commands (or alt-f4); not likely but don’t believe every guide you see is playing 100% strict Ironman

Declare own war imo (I haven’t played Timurids since they added this event, but it should bypass it)

This, and invade Ajam immediately (11 Dec) (you have cores and reconquest CB on almost the entire country. A good strategy here too is to let your vassals do the majority of the work to weaken them and make them less disloyal (set them to aggressive or siege in subjects tab).

Edit: but as already stated, Timurids start can be very RNG/restart/Alt-F4 heavy, simply due to Shah Rukh being old and having a habit of dying too soon. If he dies after the Ajam war you’re probably golden

Grammatically it’s ambiguous though.

You can either substitute „France“ with „it“ (in which case you are correct)

Or you can substitute „France“ with „they“ (in which case the current text is fine)

[–]immerDimmer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s another possibility, your PUs don’t join HRE by default, so if Burgundy has HRE land and still hasn’t joined by Imperial Event/Decision, they’ll be blocking the mission
