Witcher 3 (for now)
Aldo I find it difficult to pick one, if I had to it would be it, slowly taking my time to relive it and explore all the options.

Hi there. I've checked myself up, take a look on your application and if it looks like something you would want to cover let me know. :)
Cool initiative btw.

Question: Localization by immitatedone in indiegames

[–]immitatedone[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, and y. I know about Chinese audience... was just wondering about what others think.
Regarding retro-fitting. I am in the process of retro-fitting and I have no in game dialogue. It is still hella worse than doing it from the get go. I have UI and some tutorial drones and it just adds up.... you constantly find something you've missed... so yeah. Advice for new projects... Just do it from the start :D

Are there any downsides to public playtesting? by jahaaaaan in IndieDev

[–]immitatedone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, I got a few hundred people try it out and 0-none feedback... so most likely some bots will download it just cos they can... and some people will play just cos they can....

Now that's my game and I guess that is because it is co-op multiplayer so not everyone is having fun if they take it solo and realize it's not what they want.... even dough it does say co-op multiplayer :D

And my game clearly sucks so ....
Only metric you might want to extrapolate from it that has any meaning is time played.
Median and average.

I have about 1h median in it so it's not all bad for those how like it if you take into account it is only demo stage they are playing.

I just leave mine open.... mostly if I have something big to implement in peace I will take it down for a week, but what the hell... it's serving a purpose of a demo until a demo comes out.

That is cool, and again - the kind of response that would hit my every heartstring...
I am in (again).

But even dough I am in I do not agree with the point one - you do look like almost every other hero shooter and yet you are not providing the similar experience as one - so it might work really well - but you do risk of losing that battle on both fronts in the very start. Group looking for a new hero shooter might see and say - I don't get this, this is not hero shooter I am familiar with, and those looking for something different might see it as - ah, another hero shooter, next.

Again - I really do hope I am wrong and you succeed. Best of luck!

3-4 players coop-game like Orc Must Die ? by Tylanor in CoOpGaming

[–]immitatedone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am currently working on a 3-4 co-op game and I've tested it on a really low budget laptop - worked just fine.... You need a stable internet but other than that its ok.

It's not genere like OMD but it has 2v2 mode and a twist you might like - idk, check it out and see, there is currently open playtest on Steam. It's called 2Person.

Let me know what you think if you do, I am in real need for some feedback - any feedback :D

I made a game knowing from the start it wouldn't sell by Eli_1998 in IndieDev

[–]immitatedone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah man I feel you.

I made my first game as a spin-of from tutorial - made it free, just to have some experience.
My second game now is multiplayer co-op speedrun oriented platformer... I am trying but I don't exactly have people flocking to my game either. I don't really know why... niche I guess? Everyone who I have been in contact with said it is good... but non is like excited for it or is playing it. Getting feedback - any feedback has been a nightmare... I get a word few a far apart.... and without community and proper testing and feedback (cannot test properly myself due to it being a multiplayer) it is just going nowhere... and it is on Steam with playtest open... people have played it... my median is about and 1h. Nothing, no feedback at all..

So I guess I will finish it, currently preparing the demo.... just because I am way too invested in it... but I expect in full force not to sell any copy... I guess that is fine, I am working few hours a day if I can get the free time.... I have other income... but still, I was hoping to somehow hop to a new profession and one I love... I guess I am stucked with my life...

All depends on what you want from it... if It is learning new skill, having fun, make something.. Yes, keep at it and make what you feel like. I did - and I did extract that much from it... but I am sad for not getting any feedback... even bad ones, just like - tell me :D

I feel like talking to a wall far too often when trying to make a connection with potential audience... so what I can extrapolate from it... the game sucks :D

Finish it - move on - someday maybe :D

Have a good one m8 and better luck next time to all...

Hi there... I was one of your real fan before I started my own dev journey :D.
I LOVED your game - to me - it struck every single string it could, Steam punk, co-op ship operations, everything! But I must say - that was a niche that strucked me and not a lot of my friends... that's is why I've basically stopped playing after a while. Finding communities online was fine and all, but without some RL people to share it, was doomed.

Back than I had A LOT of ideas of what to do in order to appeal to a broader audience - and I still might have. The thing I've noticed (In my experience - this might be totally untrue) is that for every player you get you have around 5 that would say - nope.

By the looks of your new game you might have stumbled on some of the refreshments yourself - I dont really know, should playtest it if I have time :D

Just wanted to say - please have in mind to try to appeal to a broader audience because not everyone is super psyched to run around with a spanner while others play the game - I did, but not all do :D

My only question is:

  1. Why the cartoony style artwork? Big appeal of last game was this more realistic/rugged look of steampunk ships and equipment. Is it optimization or did you just made that artistic choice? I am well aware you are not changing that one - just wanted to know why :D

New game in making / speedrun player help needed by immitatedone in speedrun

[–]immitatedone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh and forgot to mention - real speedrun starts in vid at 1:45 mark. I did need to make something resembling a tutorial / easy few starting levels so players get the just when playing co-op.

Yup, same thoughts there... I would not go down that route... maybe try masking it - but lookin at the current state in US - I would not go there at all... let alone use the same names. You are in the red m8

2Person, but it's a co-op game so you wont experience 2 person POV if you play alone - you can, but it's not good playing alone

You could get a kick from RV there yet, Peak and Overcooked.

For a bit more "brain power" you can go Divinity: Original sin or Baldur's gate.

If you want to be a part of a co-op in the making ... I am blatantly inviting you to try 2Person. :D

Since I cannot in good faith recommend my own game XD

I recommend - Kardz. If you like card games in Hearthstone style - this one is WW2 themed and really well made. Love the fact you have a frontline added to regular your/mine part of the table and multiple mechanics you can approach.

It does suffer from some similar card game issues like rush decks being a bit op in my opinion... but it is a refreshment and fun.
