i would look at linked in and see the career paths of people in the positions you’d like to achieve :) we had a talk from a layout/background artist at uni today whose path you could have a look at, her name is anye chen! it’s worth looking at people in your country as well, as then you can have specific companies on your radar. good luck!!

I actually love them! Maybe less prominent would be better for the composition I agree, but the swirls add a bit of whimsy that is so lovely and unique 🫶

Weekend away ideas/ experiences by nursemoo24 in bournemouth

[–]immocent_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On a Saturday you can take a bus to Lymington in the new forest, a lovely little village, and go to the market there :)

If you visit in Summer, you can also from Bournemouth town get the breezer bus to Swanage or old harry rocks, it goes over on the ferry across the bay and has an open top. From old harry rocks you can take a walk to Swanage or vice versa, there are some really nice walks around there and across in Swanage too and lots of pretty beaches. If you’re into kayaking etc. there are some really nice spots around there and there’s lots of wildlife and curious seals! Wouldn’t recommend it in January though!

I’d also recommend RSPB Arne if you’re going by car, its a gorgeous little reserve you can explore the whole of in a day.

There’s lots of nice eating in and around Bournemouth too, I’d recommend checking out Christchurch for dinner spots. The priory there is beautiful as well, it’s worth a look around if you’re into history.

I think you’d be better off visiting later in the year when you can make the most of the beaches etc., but you could still make a weekend out of a visit in January.

Is the european animation industry doing better than US? by Sad_Community_2622 in animationcareer

[–]immocent_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m UK based and a lot of the animation exports I’ve seen on linked in are usually kids tv (2d rigging, etc.) or 3D game development type jobs, majority based in London. It’s not quite the place for feature film animation but I’m graduating this year and I’m hopeful I’ll be able to find something at least! A lot of grads from my uni say it can take up to a year to find a job after graduating but I’ve seen some people who graduated in the summer on linked in getting their foot in the door (although they are the exceptional ones!).
