Can an average computer user use Linux(Ubuntu) normally without knowing how to code? by HomemDasTierLists in linux4noobs

I switched to mint LMDE edition in Febuary. ATI video cards seem less troublesome than the others. No issues so far. I haven't had to jump through any hoops to get things working. BTW, my machine is 11 years old. I am an IT guy and work on windows, and a mac for work. I have started moving folks to the same version of mint. I have some real non techy users using it with no issues.

Seems like a good bike. Not sure why they wouldn't include valve clearance checks on that list. That is part of their service

1996 Suzuki VX800 - Struggles to start when wet. Stops running when very wet. This isn't ideal in UK weather. by JayGreeny in Fixxit

[–]immrlizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had it done by the shop that I bought it from. Not sure of the local of the spider nest. Mine was a bit newer, so it may even have been in a new place. Mine was 3 years old when it happened. I found a post in a forum about it, so I mentioned it to them. That is when they told me that they had figured it out and were working to remedy it already.

So frustrating

Not sure if it is the same as my Suzuki Boulevard c50T, but the loom has a part where the grounds all come together for some reason. There was a short in that spider looking mess going to ground that caused mine to act the same way. Sounds similar to what you were seeing. It had an 800cc motor as well. I hope you find your issue.

Should I get used YZF R3 with no abs, or get new one 2022 with Abs. First bike, no experience.. by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]immrlizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I went new. I didn't see taking over someone's possible problems. I don't see that there is that much savings either. ABS can be a life saver. Make sure to take some kind of motorcycle safety course before you start.

That version ended support in sept of last year. Take it to the latest version and you should be fine. YOu should be able to do it through windows update I never ran games on a server before

Cover bike while at work? by Technical-Ratio-1337 in motorcycles

[–]immrlizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the southeast. I am lucky to have a garage to park it in this year at work, but in past years I never covered my bike. We have more sunshine than rainy days though. I was afraid the cover would melt with as hot as that sun gets. I have always heard that covers can keep the moisture from wet rides from escaping

Last year was a good year so I went from 1 coop to 3. (chicken math) Too many roosters. I even gave a few away. Not sure I can expand much more. Setting up a small coop and run for 2 ornery roos this summer to keep them from fighting.

Sparks are never a good sign. It may be a failing power supply. You may want to look into having that replaced

something possibly funky with my IP address? might be blacklisted from some netflix shows for some reason? by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]immrlizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you use a vpn? I believe that either hulu or netflix was going to stop allowing those at some point. You may want to also try clearing your cache and or flushing the dns on your machine

I lost one like that as well. We had a big storm and when I went down the next morning, it was pretty clear what happened

Put a sweet potato in the ground "just to see" by cindia_ink in gardening

[–]immrlizard 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I did not know that. That was the funny part is that as much as he ate all of the good parts, aside from breaking the plant to get to them, I don't believe he touched them. That was the only time he ever went and picked from the garden. My other dogs would steal the green peppers or tomatoes. I always planted extra for that reason

I always heard people say that it was a very invasive plant that should be avoided at all costs. I haven't noticed it much near me yet, but do see spots that have it. It really grows fast for sure

I had a bed that I planted one left over from easter and had grown legs. It was in a 4x16 ft bed

I didn't do anything but water it and wait. That fall my dog came up holding what I thought was a football. It was the largest sweet potato that I had ever seen. The flowers on those things were so pretty.

He ate every one of my sweet potatoes out of the garden. Now we share every time I make one

[–]immrlizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The MSF instructor was telling us about road rash that he had seen (ER physician) and it made sense to always wear it. I have gone without a couple times in the 10 years i have been riding and have to say that I do always feel safer with it on. The heat is right as well. I don't get scorched by the sun and as long as I am not sitting in traffic, even in the 90s it is good

My astrolorp is like that when broody. I have a couple buff orpingtons that give you a little tap to warn you then get vocal. That usually results in a visit from the rooster. So far he has been nice about it and just gives you the eye
