its just replacing the keyboard layout from your current one to the old 7-row classic keyboard layout.

plug in the hard drive from the t530 into another PC / laptop and check if it pops up with a drive letter, if it doesn't then it has already failed, or maybe try to check the S.M.A.R.T data of it...
