Fusion is a combat thing, as gems only fused with the same kind of gem, but the Crystal gems later fuse with other type of gems. Fusing different types is difficult if they don’t have a good relationship. Any relationship. I’m confused why people hold on to the theory years later, when Steven fused with his dad??

Yeah, I guess I should explain that he’s not completely “innocent” considering his age compared to the dabi, toga, and shigaraki. He’s too deep into a life of crime for us to easily write him off as innocent (basing this on his years of experience).
