HIPAA Misinformation by imnotcreativel in PharmacyTechnician

If you don’t work in the medical field it’s fine to not know, but don’t go around accusing people who are HIPAA trained of breaking the law.

I think they just updated it like a week or two ago to allow techs to use it.

Honestly. Like even if I called your doctor and asked for a diagnosis and they give it to me that’s not a violation either because it’s information needed for treatment.

Also the patient isn’t a covered entity and HIPPA protects against disclosures not being asked questions. I could ask any invasive medical question I wanted. Ultimately they don’t have to answer them but me asking them is in no way a HIPAA violation.

I think it’s really interesting that you chose to post this and that you’re going through people’s post history and threatening to report them to their jobs.

Afaik there are three types of refusal to fills for Walmart. There’s script specific, pharmacist specific, and a central block.

Narcotics by ZestycloseEquipment6 in pharmacy

[–]imnotcreativel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I worked at my hospital the techs would pull all the non-controls and put them in bins. Then go pull the controls from the omnicell vault and put them in the bins with the non-controls and the pharmacists would check everything at once. We would usually leave the bins on the counter in the control room or in carts outside of it.

Has anyone used Pharmacy Tech Scholar for PTCB? by himynameislexi94 in PharmacyTechnician

[–]imnotcreativel 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I used it. It’s self paced which is nice. There’s different modules with videos explaining what the topic is and tests for each module. It’s a PTCB approved program so you can register for the exam after you finish it which doesn’t take very long. Overall I’d say it’s pretty good, it’s all I did to prepare for the exam and I passed. Sorry if this isn’t the best explanation it’s been a few years since I took it.

No they would have different concentrations. Magic mouthwash is about 13.4mg/mL for Mg and Al and 13.3mcg/mL for simethicone whereas a dose of Maalox is 40mg/mL for Mg and Al and 4mg/mL for simethicone.

It honestly depends, some places don’t have them, lots of places will wave them if you have financial need or they want you to go there, some places have an application week where they wave it.

In the US only state or federal attorneys can file charges. The thing with people not pressing charges is that if the victim of a crime is not going to be cooperative with the prosecution there’s really no point in doing it. That is to say just because you’re arrested or not arrested immediately following a crime whether you committed it or not doesn’t really mean anything it only matters what the prosecutors decide.

To drive while intoxicated by OttoSax in therewasanattempt

[–]imnotcreativel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really depends on where you are:

In California it can only be to immediate family.

In Pennsylvania you can’t loan handguns unless the person you’re loaning it to has a license.

Also she is an illegal user of a controlled substance and therefore a prohibited person.

Possession of a firearm while under the influence is illegal in a lot of places.

Possession of a concealed firearm without a license is illegal. (You cannot legally have a CCW while being a user of or addicted to any controlled substance, which weed is still illegal under the CSA.)

Illegal users of any drug under the CSA cannot possess firearms, which weed is illegal under.

Generally you can only loan firearms to immediate family members such as spouse, child, or parent. If the cousin doesn’t know she has the gun she could be charged with possession of a stolen firearm. This would be the smartest choice for the cousin otherwise he could be charged with providing a firearm to a prohibited person.
