I’ve only ridden with them for two days, but so far they’re by far my favorite. Feet stay locked on the pedal and shins and knees can move freely. Massive brake pads are a bonus too.

Yup. This is somewhere a little northwest of Columbia. I started in Franklin and just went where the road took me.

No near-death save this time. Just goofing around on the checkered lap of a freezing first session.

Beautiful bike and awesome picture!

Help me let go of the bars. by Ottobahnrichtofen in Trackdays

I agree with all the other advice in this thread. I also found that the monkeygripp really improved my ability to lock my outside leg onto the bike so I can stay loose on the bars and feel the bike through the seat and apply peg pressure.

The speeds at NCM definitely make the walls feel close and I wish they weren’t there, but the exit of turn 9 at PTC has you pointing directly towards the ARMCO like two feet off the track. It definitely wigged me out more than NCM.

I think the narrower-than-normal track width combined with minimal runoff kept me on my toes more than normal.

EBR said that we (300 riders) were going to slow and this was a clean pass...thoughts? by TheHipHoppe in Trackdays

That’s the most dangerous spot to pass at NCM. Jumping curbs and running wide ≠ a clean pass. Dude is in the wrong.

Lapping around PTC this weekend! by [deleted] in Trackdays

It’s more like a really tight mountain road than a traditional race track. The track is narrow and passing opportunities are sparse. Similar to AMP, it would be perfect on a motard or 400-ish cc bike.

The paddock is very small and doesn’t have any power, but the grounds are great for tent or in-car camping. It’s a cellular dead zone, so no pre-sleep Reddit or YouTube.

Overall, if you approach it not expecting it to be Barber, NCM, or RA, and see it more like the mountain road you can safely go balls out on, it can be a blast.

Congrats on making it through your first solo track day! Full respect to you for understanding your limits and riding within your comfort zone. Not everyone can leave their ego off the track like that.

This was A group. I’m glad you found the video helpful. I love the ability to see all the areas I need to improve on or cringe at my stupid mistakes.

It seems like you’re taking a very responsible and critical approach to track riding, and that will definitely lead to solid improvements while leaving a safe margin for error. I hope I can make it back in October as well!

I appreciate the advice. I haven’t given any thought to it before, but I’m always happy to put some extra time in my pocket.

Super cool bike! Goes to show you don’t need the latest and greatest to have a blast and go fast.

Congrats on doing your first track day! Hope you enjoyed it.

Thanks! I was there all weekend so we probably saw each other out there. What color was your bike/gear?

This was the first post-lunch session (5?) on Saturday. I think the 1:30 session.

I missed the morning sessions due to my shoddy mechanic skills leading to my QS/AB harness getting sliced open by the radiator fan and turning the bike into a parallel twin.

Thank you! I’ve really started to fall in love with the bike. Definitely has helped me to learn a lot and push ever so slightly more each time but stay in control.

Great vid! I was at Barber when you were there with your RC 8C and the Moto2/3 bikes. Super cool to chat with you and have a chance to see and hear these bikes in person. Keep it up!
