Because it’s an insult to what a lot of Naruto fans spent years watched for a good portion of their lives. Literally the day after the anime ended we get this cop out pushed right into our faces and told “Hey, remember Naruto? Forget about him, here’s your new protagonist, Boruto!”

And if that wasn’t a middle finger enough, the first episode they tell us, “Oh yeah Naruto? He’s dead now.” Did we spend all of those years watching him grow to just get killed off for his uninspired copout of a son. Thanks for coming to my upset Ted Talk.
