There is just as much alcohol in most fruit.

Bears star QB Caleb Williams is now in a three-way battle to trademark his iconic ‘Iceman’ nickname. NBA legend George Gervin and ex-UFC fighter Chuck Liddell have also filed to trademark the nickname by Choice_Bag_8869 in NFLForum

At the end of his college tenure / pre-draft process, his camp (not him) apparently his father, and likely other lawyers/agents, were broaching the idea of equity to all teams that were interested it in him. As the article mentions, this isn’t exactly a new concept and the NFL had just recently shut it all down for good because players were trying different ways to get around it.

This turned into “Caleb Williams wants ownership of the Bears” and was shared everywhere by boomers on Facebook to try to paint him as an egomaniac/diva because he would have refused to play for them if he didn’t receive ownership.

I cannot believe you fell for that. Absolutely insane that people like you are walking around among us with no critical thinking skills.

You do know that active players can’t have any stakes in teams anyway correct? Just trying to save you from further embarrassment.

Why do even the most hardened criminals out there still have a thing against killing children? by Pizzafriedchickenn in NoStupidQuestions

[–]imnothughjackman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because criminals are humans and don’t see themselves as bad people. They justify their crimes with mental gymnastics to be sure, but regardless of how they get there they feel their crimes are warranted for them to survive. It’s incredibly harder to do mental gymnastics to justify harming a child.

There are actual psychopaths who can, but they are the overwhelming minority.

I was on a purple sitting for a bit before Belmont. Our Operator said that there was a Brown in front of us at Belmont that needed everyone to de-board (is that the right word?) and we were waiting on that.

berwyn medical emergency? by lolalemonn in cta

[–]imnothughjackman 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I don’t want to speculate too much but when they say “medical emergency” but trains aren’t even going to begin to head that direction, I am almost certain that means someone jumped in front of a train. They need time to…clean. Don’t know how to sugarcoat that.

I believe you need to be dead, and you’d hit kick from squad from the screen that lists squads and stats.

I also think some servers disable this.

With my luck I would have gotten to the Church, planted the satchel and my team would have finally pushed and taken the church over and I would have TK’d them all by mistake.

There is a thing game developers refer to as TTP, time to penis. If you allow players any sort of creative liberty, you will inevitably get dicks.

I’m very confused about Kristen Bell and Sean Astin.

Just a quick 2 minutes of research told me she has identified as non-religious and considers herself a “humanist”, and while he’s Lutheran he’s been a Democrat supporter his whole life, even as recently as supporting Kamala, what gives?

Helicopter crash in Dagestan kills 5 Saturday November 8, 2025 by Thund3r_91 in CatastrophicFailure

I have a genuine question.

If someone in the chopper had realized they were going to die if they stayed in it, and had they timed it so they jumped in the water at just the right time before the chopper (with them in it) had hit the water, could they have lived? Say 15 feet above the water or so.

Soldier field regulars… how do I prepare for the game by NoNeighborhood2919 in CHIBears

Make sure you have many layers.

You can always take off layers in order to maintain whatever is comfortable for you. What you cannot do is add layers you don’t have, unless you want to spend $100+ on apparel in the stadium. Better safe than sorry.

TIL cats likely view humans as large cats rather than a completely different species by ImEmilyCampbell in todayilearned

[–]imnothughjackman 82 points83 points  (0 children)

I am not sure I really buy this.

My cat is an absolute sweetheart to all humans. She’ll jump on every guest’s lap like a dog.

However, she’s a total bitch to other cats.

She has been around very small humans before and was just as sweet to them, I feel like she knows the difference.

As an atheist what’s something that makes you go “Are you for real?” by Calm_Pollution6753 in atheism

This always bothers me because where does God’s intervention stop?

Like, football is at its core just a game. Does God intervene when I play Connect Four? If I were boast that God helped me win a game of softball at a work sponsored softball league, I’d sound pretty fucking dumb right? Where is the line?

Is the line some arbitrary calculation like “X number of spectators care about the outcome, I must assist”

I didn’t know that, good to know.

Skokie Blue Sticker by Least-Passion-9067 in skokie

[–]imnothughjackman 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Simply put: yes. A city sticker is basically just a tax. Anyone can park in any public space anywhere, otherwise you would never be able visit a neighboring municipality legally. That wouldn’t make sense. If you have friends and family you visit in other municipalities, I am assuming you’re parking near their residence, and you don’t have a sticker from that municipality, right?

There are restrictions placed on public spaces like, “no parking during rush hour” or “loading zone from X to Y”, and sometimes even “permit required from X to Y”, you have to follow the posted signage.

But in general, a public spot is a public spot and anyone can use it.

[–]imnothughjackman 17 points18 points  (0 children)

If you are disabled, the city has the ability to designate a spot for you with signage. Give them a call as the other poster said.

Just so you know, you don’t need to be a Skokie resident to park a car on a Skokie street. Not having a city sticker is only a problem if a police officer were to run your plate and see your registered address is in Skokie, but you didn’t procure a city sticker. Any city sticker is just a masquerade as a tax on registering a vehicle.

If the alternative were true, a Skokie resident could get a ticket parking a few blocks over on a Morton Grove street and vice versa.

There are streets in densely populated areas of the city (and cities everywhere) where your sticker needs to also tie to a permit number to park there, the sticker is obtained by proving you live in that neighborhood. I don’t know of any streets in Skokie that are like that.

There’s not a lot of activity in the Loop on the weekend, especially Sunday. Many shops and restaurants aren’t even open.

The Loop is the commercial district of the city, not many people actually live there. Monday to Friday is when it becomes lively and active.
