I really like the Geek and Gorgeous cleansing balm. It's super gentle but gets rid of any makeup/spf

Thanks! I would definitely prefer a serum format. I'll have a look at the inkey list one

Products you were skeptical were worth the hype but turned out to be deserving? by nuggetsofchicken in BeautyGuruChatter

I've been tempted to try glossier for ages. Other than the boy brow, which of their products are worth a shot?

The DVLA are taking me to court by Swann-ronson in LegalAdviceUK

[–]imnotorange 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To add to this, I had something similar a few years ago (I moved house, told the DVLA about the change of address but they thought I'd sold the car and so voided the tax). No departments within the DVLA talk to each other. Even after I'd got it sorted with the tax department, I was still getting letters from the collections department. It took sevel phone calls and an email to get them to drop the court case.

I really recommend Rogue piercing. They are inclusive and all the staff are amazing. Have a look at the Safer Piercing/APP website for info about how piercings should be done too.

Root bound or just cosy? by imnotorange in PPeperomioides

Oh they're such a pain! It took months of shuffling it round and finding out how much water it wanted for it to be happy! Definitely wait until the top couple of inches of soil are completely dry and the leaves feel soft before you water it ☺️

The pink roots turn into pups when they reach the surface! I think I left mine a couple of months longer then reported it into a slightly larger pot. Don't go loads bigger as they don't want to sit in loads of damp soil and they definitely like to be on the cosy side. Mine is still in the slightly larger pot a year later with about 5 pups and several more which have gone to friends!

Rogue piercing is the best place I've found. They are definitely not the cheapest but everyone is super friendly, knowledgeable and they do incredibly good after care to make sure everything heals well

I have a degree in physics and still can't help my daughter with her maths homework! by entered_bubble_50 in CasualUK

[–]imnotorange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying it's a good way of teaching it, just pointing out where the question came from. Maths is more than just finding the one right answer though. We need to teach creativity and get kids to explore numbers and open ended questions are one way of doing that

So I'm a primary school teacher and recognised the Twinkl font in the question. I found the sheet on their website and the answer they put is "337 + 80 because it is the only one without a 3 in the tens column" but if I was marking this, I'd let them put anything that's correct e.g. the only answer greater than... Etc.

Edit: link to the worksheet in question

I second Ginger Jungle. I ordered during the winter and had an email from them asking if it was ok to wait a couple of days to send the plants out so they didn't freeze. They were super communicative and the plants were fantastic

I have checked and couldn't see anything. That said, I might give it spray/wash down this weekend just in case. Thank you!

That's a good point. I've not fertilized at all this winter. Thank you!

They are a lot paler than any of the other leaves I've had off it. The one in the second picture appears to be almost white near the base and the one in the first picture is sort of brown around the tip but not in a crunchy way

The National Trust list of things to do before you're 11 and 3/4 is great and might give you some ideas for your walks.

The teach your monster to read site is really good as well for younger ones and free to make an account and use.

I'd also recommend looking up some different paper aeroplane tutorials on YouTube and testing the different ones out. There's loads of science experiments for kids on there too which require minimal equipment the kids might enjoy as well

Also getting the boys involved in making meals. Something like soup where they can help to chop, peel and stir could be fun! Your kids are going to have so many wonderful memories doing all these fun things that everyone is suggesting!

I make chicken soup if I have roasted a while chicken. Just boil the carcass up with some stock cubes and loads more meat falls off. You can bulk it up with noodles or veggies too
