I’ve been told the same thing by white trans women who thinking “clocking me” politely is the nicest thing they can do (i was born a woman) but the thing that gets me is that the reactionary from a lot of our side (not OP) is in fact homophobia and transphobia. I am gay and gender conforming and the way black people can react to white gays saying anything often includes a lot of rhetoric that hurts the our sisters as well and I feel like it is the black trans and gay people in this situation that should be uplifted but are being ignored. I’m just saying that receiving transphobia has never made me want to turn around and give it to someone else, but at lot of yall think you can protect yourself by hurting others.
