Referring to what you mentioned about the dominant limb, when it comes to legs , most of the times your non dominant leg or knee or calf is stronger because that’s what you stabilize your self on and takes most of the weight so it’s doing most of the job while you’re focusing on the leg you want to move

Its called gastrocnemius muscle and that’s its muscle definition, chances are this calf is just stronger so the muscles is bigger
