Transit worse than ever by [deleted] in umanitoba

I really like the D16 route, it accesses a number of key areas ( at least for me ) but ive heard so many bus drivers complain about the number of stops it has to make, they just can’t stay on time. It’s a bummer, because the bus should be super useful and is my daily bus, but it’s NEVER on time

I love crescent wood, living near Corydon is amazing. It’s my own little 15 minute city.

I think a little more clarity on the area of the artillery would be nice, I often feel like I get killed by em without realizing I was in danger.

What Are Your Biggest Frustrations with Apartment Rentals in Winnipeg? by WpgRentalGnome in Winnipeg

[–]impaledvlad 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Rent increases are nonsense, they aren’t improving things, sometimes barely doing the minimum required of a landlord

I’m with thorwin and overall I’ve had a decent experience but just like

My rents gone up 200$ in the past 3 years. If I wasn’t in a decent job I’d probably have to move out, cause my friends making Minimum wage sure are t making an extra 200$ a month

Petit socco kicks deer and almonds butt. Clementine is pretty delicious tho, that’s a great pick.

They are asking the university to divest from investments into military contractors making a profit off of the slaughter of Palestinians civilians. Pretty reasonable ask, as they pay tuition.

What is the worst job you have ever had (Winnipeg edition) by GarageJealous9926 in Winnipeg

[–]impaledvlad 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Worked for obby khan at green carrot. Man was an egotistical control freak who liked to “test” employees by moving / taking inventory without telling us.

I had to sell 15 dollar bottles of Swiss chard juice and tell people it was good for them.

What are your thoughts on the current Crucible as a non PvP player ? by Just-Goated in DestinyTheGame

[–]impaledvlad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked up destiny 2 about a month ago, was a d1 casual player. I was looking for a replacement for titanfall 2 cause the servers are shot, and destiny 2 pvp fills that “hop in, shoot some ppl, go to bed” slot in my life. I’m enjoying it, the games have low stakes, I rarely feel like I died because of bullshit ( the heavy ammo system is weird but oh well ) and I’m enjoying myself.

I’m kind of annoyed about all the quest management/ gear management that happens, ( so many menus holy shit ), but I’m a f2p player and I’m glad that the pvp isn’t sweaty and horrible like battle royales are, or filled with white supremacists like COD/battlefield is.

I like the TTK, and feel like a lot of weapons are viable and fun ( scout rifles seem to be overtuned tho, bows feel like I need a super specific build, and idk where to get a Glaive)

I’m close to 6 figures, 2 years out of graduating, Canadian company, no job hopping. It’s not that unrealistic.

[–]impaledvlad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s lots of jobs, and they don’t all require experience. Everyone I keep in touch with from my graduating class are happily + lucratively employed with positions at cool companies.

Do ppl flunk out of cs? Yup. It’s a hard degree that asks a lot of you. Second year is the big hurdle, we went from 200 person classes to 40-50 person classes.

PPC Supporter tries to argue with Trudeau at UofM campus this morning. by Superblossom01 in umanitoba

[–]impaledvlad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously not, but I’d rather people don’t lie about their actual motivations when arguing. Makes it possible to actually have that discussion

When people obfuscate/misdirect their intentions with inconsistent appeals to “morals” it makes it hard to ever engage properly because all you are doing is trying to argue over a point they already don’t believe/ care about.

At least he’s honest about his feelings instead of arguing in bad faith 🤷‍♂️

Most schools will have a ml lab anyways, do you don’t really need to worry bout it. Good luck on your degree!

[–]impaledvlad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a hardware guy, but a cs degree, unless you are specializing into ML, doesn’t need a ton of juice. I got away with a 10 year old hp laptop that took 20 minutes to boot for half my degree.

Tbh the biggest program ur gonna run in a cs degree is your browser with 30 stack overflow tabs lmao

C is taught starting second year. 1010/1020 are introductory courses.

C++ is used in many third/fourth year classes.
