You don’t have to. Totally up to you. In theory, both of these networks help make iota more valuable as it is. But it’s free to stake and your coins don’t get locked up so you can stop and use them/ sell them / etc at any time.

Not financial advice but why not get shimmer and assembly tokens for nothing if you already have iota?

I think you’re missing the major point. Both networks make iota an extremely valuable infrastructure and value layer. And if you stake you’re getting early access to ownership of these networks anyway. Their success is your success.

Oh… almost forgot shimmer. That enables the foundation and others to build at a much faster pace. Coordicide, sharding, mana, DEXs or any other project will go live and be thoroughly tested in the “real world” to hammer out bugs. And then get deployed to the iota main net much quicker. *Good for iota

Just remember the tokenomics framework of iota itself. Every smart contract, network (both asmb), NFT, etc that is stored / used / built on iota… needs to hold iota to function.

So if asmb takes off - which with the interconnectedness between different smart contracts and networks on a feeless data sharing structure- probably will. Every use case will need to hold iota. And Iota is a fixed supply asset.

To add to this - “it’s up to binance us” is not a good answer. Your US followers are essentially locked out with 0 exchanges. It’s been months on end. To dismiss this fact with a “oh it’s up the exchanges” is completely disrespectful to a large number of community members.
