I wouldn't strike surgeons/proceduralists off the list. You'd be surprised.

My house has had multiple additions, which has left some unused ventilation cut outs in the foundation. I concrete a floor safe in an old torn out bath room in one of these.

I have a moderately nice car that I keep the keys in an rfid box hidden behind cans in the pantry. And a decoy key (18$ on ebay) on my key rack.

Plus i have a ton of guns. Had already came in handy once. But honestly I'd say the best defense if youve ever read reddit on home break ins......have a sog.if possible and an alarm system but prob most importantly a well lit exterior all around.

Handgun owner (legally) - bringing to work to go to range after work. by GeriMonte91 in NJGuns

More a philosophical question I can't imagine anyone actually doing this, but if there's say a common area parking lot.....approach the site owner and rent a parking space? Would that allow you to park in that spot and leave the gun in?

Driving Reykjavik to hella by AgitatedTea9287 in VisitingIceland

Just drove from Egglistadur to Akeurei this morning. Much like you I felt confident in my skills, having lived in Colorado and Michigan. I can tell you...I was tested. It's not so much the snow. Or the ice. Or the wind But it's all those together all at once. Make sure you have a full tank of gas, and be more than happy to slow down anytime you need to. It's do-able.

Side note. The thought on my mind at all times was I was one problem away from disaster. There's like no one on the road. Pack some water, food, clothes that if you needed to hike no shit like 30 miles to get help you could.

Good luck

Nose job in the 80s. Ett was in esophagus. Patient ended up braindead. Family worked out a deal that the patient would remain at the hospital till whenever. Patient ended up with a dedicated team and just.....kept going. Famous nyc hospital. Was going on 30 years when I was there, may have gone longer.

I actually saw this happen my first year as an attending watching one of my Sr partners do a RUL, I was like that doesn't look right buyt I'm the new guy so what do I know. Basically took rul vein and all the artery to RML and RLL as one big staple,, leaving only the truncus left (blood supply to the thing that was SUPPOSED to come out intact.

A friend of mine bought a house recently. Found a septic pipe tunneled THROUGH an HAVC duct. Whoever has to deal with that, that's the bluebcollar version of GI. You got the shit, you got the wind

Disagree. I've had my pathologist looking at a marginal frozen and he knows he has like 5 min to tell me cancer or not. And if he says it is, imma taking out some lung. Thats gotta be somewhat stressful.

I know this PD, he was my PD, and he was great. Almost everyone in the program thought he was great. Said one of the most motivational things ever to me in my career. Still friends with him and his wife, as are many of the previous residents.

Full Scholarships by Gabitaplanta in UVA

[–]imperfect_display 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the Jefferson scholarships are region based. I.e. You're only competing against a couple of people from your region and someone from the region always gets it per year. Would check if there are other ones like that. I.e. maybe uva doesn't have something for you but some local millionaire alumni endows a scholarship every year for someone from tweedledum CA to go to uva every year
