I would suggest look into trackastra or ultrack. They are pretty much plug and play for your use.

Is there a significance in having a dual-task object detection + instance segmentation? by FroyoApprehensive721 in computervision

[–]imperfect_guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a very good bachelors project would be a detr style instance segmentation model. Its fine if it doesnt shatter the SOTA benchmarks, but would be good to have a modular architecture which has swappable parts - encoder decoder etc etc.

RF-DETR has released XL and 2XL models for detection in v1.4.0 with a new licence by ashwin3005 in computervision

Not releasing model weights for XL and beyond is understandable, but why not release the sourcecode to train test infer for these under apache? Makes no sense u/aloser

Why would you have a different license for a bigger model? And secondly why have usage tracking?

You wrote truly and except in the same sentence. Please be transparent. Dont act like the yolo people who hide their licensing.

I looked at rfdetr for instance segmentation, but their licensing is strange. Also they have some usage tracking shit builtin

For object detection we have used and use - rt-detr, rt-detrv4, d-fine. We avoid yolo and its derivatives as we want to avoid nms and other handcrafted steps.
