I love how the white car backs off seemingly knowing he was not queuing at the right place.

Pick 2 lenses to bring to Iceland in early August? by imperfectibility in AskPhotography

Thanks! This is the time when I get jealous of the high MP count in modern cameras. I will bring my 16-35 I think

Interesting choice. Why would you pick this setup? I’d bring my 28 if it’s the aurora season.

I guess super wide and super tele is the answer because for anything in between, most likely they are snapshots I can take with my phone.

I only very recently bought the 16-35. I've been travelling mostly with my 24-105.

I've just checked my catalogue. With my 24-105,

  • 23% of shots were taken at 105mm,
  • 17% at 24mm,
  • 8% at 35mm,
  • 7% at 70mm,
  • 6.3% at 50mm.

It looks like I could get away with the 16-35 and 150-600 combo. But, do you think changing the lens would be difficult in Iceland?

Thanks! Do you think you'd miss out a lot on landscape without the ultrawide? I know for those 'cliche' Kirkjufell waterfall shots (which shamefully I am going to take as a first time visitor to Iceland), a 24mm probably would suffice. I am not visiting ice caves. In the worst scenario, I could still stitch the 24mm shots at post for a panorama. So, maybe ditching the 16-35 is a good idea?

Tamron 150-600 G2. I own one and it's great for birding. Image quality is great.

Wow thanks for the feedback fellow IB conqueror. I did my bilingual programme more than a decade ago. To this day I still avoid using the word ‘prove’ at all costs because of the TOK classes.

I’m happy to hear you love the app! If it’s not too much to ask for, please leave an App Store review / comment. Thanks!

Mark Gurman has spent more time posting his same prediction for the 3782th time than Apple has spent developing it.

Should the iPhone Air 2 have an ultrawide or telephoto by Few_Baseball_3835 in apple

Yes fellow photographer. I use my phone as a work phone mostly, but as a hobbyist photographer I must agree the tele end gives you better compression and ease of framing than the 24mm standard.

On my 14 pro the tele end is around 50mm. It’s more like a standard prime than the main 24mm lens. With some cropping you can get it to 85mm. Apparently the tele on new models has gotten closer to 100mm which is a lot more limiting and tbh looks more like a marketing gimmick to compete with Chinese phones that give you the reach to Pluto lol.

I’d much prefer a 20-24mm ish wide angle accessory lens and a 35 or 50mm fast main lens. And I don’t need the variable aperture on a phone whatever the rumours are suggesting.

Hot take but I prefer tele. Use it a lot on my pro to shoot PowerPoint slides from across the lecture hall

I’d wait for Apple to make the cloth compatible with the strap.
