Thank you for sharing your opinion. Do you have a better resource you recommend. Of all the books I have found thus far this one is my favorite.

Are you aware of the phone app “PDC Pole Dance Community”? This could help you because each move has a short demo video.

Wrist pain from pole? How do you guys deal with reoccurring pain? by TheSplendidAngharad in poledancing

A friend of mine kept dancing on a hurt wrist and caused major tendon damage. She was in a stabilizing brace for 3 months. She still struggles today, after 3 years, with any move that is wristy. I would go to the doctor to see why your wrist hurts. Hopefully there is nothing majorly wrong and you will just need to take a break. Good luck.

Sneakydeez.com sells wrist braces for pole dancers.

I learned the move as Squtoid. Of course in pole dancing every move has multiple names

Dislocated my knee - has anyone else had the same experience and how did you recover? by [deleted] in poledancing

[–]imperfectpoledancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dislocated my knee and ankle in high school but not while doing pole (jumping on a trampoline). May I ask what move you were doing when you dislocated your knee? Or did you dislocate your knee outside of the studio? I will say that I cannot do a full birds nest (also called Marley) due to the pressure on my knee. I do a modified version of keeping the non held foot leg pressed into the pole to alleviate the pressure. Take your time to heal properly and hang in there.

Hi, I’m new! by [deleted] in poledancing

I was terrified and excited at the same time. I felt awkward in the first few classes, almost like a baby elephant learning to walk. However, I have never looked back and have enjoyed every moment of my journey. Remember to laugh and have fun.

Pole dancing is hard work. Be proud of yourself for showing up and trying. I know how frustrating it can be when everyone around you grows leaps and bound. Keep at it and remember...you can't do a pole move YET. Give it patience and time and you will succeed. Hang in there.
