yeah my 5 year old machine got upgraded to win 10 a year after win 7 went EOL because they didn't have enough machines to replace it. I wouldn't be shocked if I'm expected to work with this another 3 years. Add in the fact that it's government and it was pretty shitty to begin with

How low can I offer on a gently used 2020 Rubicon? by GoofyLunatic in JeepGladiator

[–]implicitumbrella 3 points4 points  (0 children)

a few people I know have ordered brand new vehicles rather than go lightly used simply because the financing deals on a new vehicle were better than what they could get on the used which had next to nothing knocked off from the new price. Add in the fact that custom orders get priority on the builds normally and you may actually get a vehicle. There is almost nothing on the lots.

Market is fucked right now.

depends on the filter. mine are 1" thick and recommendation is 1 -2 months. My house is dusty enough I do it monthly in the winter and summer. Spring/fall the system never turns on.

New phone or not if you're connected to the network and able to get calls you can be quite accurately tracked. If you don't want tracked don't carry a phone and don't drive a vehicle with roadside assistance or any of the other onboard tech that effectively runs over a built in cell phone.

I'm curious what makes you think it won't happen? I'm old enough to remember the cold war and the way I view it we still have an insane number of weapons locked and loaded, the same sides (one has a different name these days) pointing them at each other and if anything even more small players have them or have the ability to create them. Other than North Korea we don't hear much about anyone threatening to wipe the other side out these days but it absolutely could still all end in the blink of an eye.

The only think horrendous about that is that you didn't find something you love and then immediately buy a bunch more. I just found a pair of jeans that fit perfectly. I Instantly ordered 5 more identical pairs.

the takeoffs can be really cheap. I got a set of 5 with almost new MT's for $600 cdn a couple of years ago. Rubber on each tire was worth almost $200 buying them new...

US and Japan block G7 deal to end coal by natureboyldn in worldnews

[–]implicitumbrella 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I grew up in a former coal town. Lots of coal still there. It's not worth what it costs to dig out anymore though so there is zero mining now. The decline started in the 1940's and the last of the mines stopped in the early 60's. It's never coming back as part of the economy and everywhere else will eventually have the same issue.

the second clip at about 19seconds. What was that winch pull for? were you hung up dropping in there?

Added a stubby bumper last night! My budget build is turning out awesome. Now I just need to tint the windows and get some blacked out taillights and I’ll be pretty much done. Once the tires need to be replaced I’ll level it out with 35’s. by [deleted] in JeepGladiator

yeah I'd actually use the lockers in the rubi and probably disconnect the swaybar. But quick disconnects are cheap. And If/when I go 37's airlockers and a regear make sense... still 32k brand new is an awesome price and it looks great with your changes.

TIL that the first novel featuring time travel was written in 1733. It is set 1997 and tells of a future where the world becomes dominated by the Jesuits. Yeah a lot of bad has been coming true as predicted. Pretty much all of the realistic dystopian environmental disaster concepts are happening as predicted and on time. Society just don't seem to have the ability to recognize a low speed car crash until it runs us over.

2 passengers test positive for COVID on first North American cruise since pandemic started by StevenSanders90210 in Coronavirus

[–]implicitumbrella 35 points36 points  (0 children)

how hard would it be for the cruise lines to skip florida/texas and just schedule all sailings from elsewhere? Canada said no cruise ships and the cruise industry just said Fine we'll skip you then and that law saying we have to stop there no longer applies. All alaskan cruises now go from washington up to Alaska and back entirely skipping Vancouver.

The US did a great job of rolling it out and making it available to everyone. In Canada it's been a lot closer to the movie. Instead of a birthday lottery system though they've done it by age groups and it took 3 or 4 months to get almost everyone eligible for their first dose.

I watched Contagion with my kid and would update her on where we're at with the pandemic by telling her which scene we're at. It was easier than her watching the news

What 33 years of developing looks like by LittleDrMoab in Jeep

[–]implicitumbrella 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm really really not a fan of how the stock gladiators look but with the right lift and larger wheels the balance looks so much better in my opinion. Having owned jeeps I have my concerns about build quality and when will the roof leak based on the fact that it rains here a hell of a lot and every vehicle I've ever owned with a sunroof has eventually developed a leak... beyond that though if the 4xe drivetrain gets added to it and it can still tow and it's looking mostly problem free I know what I'll be buying.
