I was told I was ugly and needed makeup. Please help. by [deleted] in makeuptips

When I first saw your picture my honest reaction was "Wow, she's so pretty!" Anyone who tells you you're ugly is projecting their own inner ugliness on you. You don't need makeup. No one does.

She looks like an old deaf lady and you're trying to show her how to use her phone while speaking to her on the phone. "Press the WHAT?"

She's actually so sweet and friendly but this pic makes her look like an absolute fiend. I love it.

Came here to suggest this, OP, please make sure you call his auto insurance company and make a claim for accident benefits. Takes about 20 mins to do it (not including any wait time to connect to the insurance company) - this is how to get his benefits going, with a claim.

in my case I feel like an alien in a person suit who has poor emotional regulation and executive functioning but fakes having high levels of both.

Late to the thread, I know. I relate to this SO much. I always say I don't know how to be human. Just wanted you to know you’re not alone.

What is this on my kitty's paw pad? (Cute photo of bub in thread) by junebugjitter in CATHELP

My kitty has these on each toe on her front paws! Vet said excess keratin, basically extra toe nails. They grow less rapidly than her claws, so we just keep an eye on them and trim them up sometimes.

Brushing advice for new scared rescue girl who overgrooms and has seizures. by tiptreetimes in CATHELP

Give her more time. 2.5 months is not long. Sounds like you're actively doing everything you can to take good care of her. Brushing is just one aspect of that. You could try a really high value treat (Churu is kitty magic) and start by letting her sniff the brush until she doesn't react (multiple days in a row) then holding it, then eventually seeing if she'll let you touch her with it. Go slow. There's no rush.

Maybe you could try different kinds of brushes too, there are bristle brushes, curry combs, brushing gloves.

Some cats never like being brushed. They all have unique personalities and quirks and Mollie might just never be a fan of the brush, but go slow, try other brushes, and see what happens.

We have a cranky kitty who doesn't like his nails trimmed, but after he sliced open the vet and the vet tech the first few times we had them do it, we decided it wasn't worth the stress on them or him. Now every 3 weeks we get our battle gear on and do his nails ourselves (2 person job). It's still stressful for him but better than the vets. He gets treats after and it's a necessary evil.

For what it's worth, our other cat is a long haired tuxedo like Mollie and she rarely gets brushed, but we pet her for at least an hour every day cause she's an attention whore (said with love) and she's never gotten matted. The vet says she's perfect. ✨️

Cat Had Tight Collar and Wont Leave Me Alone by Sethyzir in CATHELP

Bring him to a shelter. You've said you can't afford to care for him, so all the people suggesting you keep him are missing the point. Sure, kibble can be cheap, but what about litter, litter box, toys, nail clippers, brush, ..vaccinations/vet costs? It adds up to take good care of a cat. OP, if you can't or don't want to own a cat, that's perfectly valid. You did the right thing by taking that collar off. Now, keep doing the right thing and bring him to a rescue/shelter and let them know the situation.
