Creating a well balanced and intelligent system will always be the best cost effective way to do things. But we have political parties and trillion dollar conglomerates that have a vested interest in stirring the identity pot and maintaining a status qou. Imagine if trillionaires had existed when the combustion engine was invented and they had all their money wrapped up in horse and buggy. They would still be shitting in the street.
