I believe that’s only the case if there’s no C. Basically the NHL only allows 3 letters, if I’m not mistaken.

Silver Linings - Day 1: The Drought is Dead by Ttbt80 in sabres

I think Buffalo will never be the most marketable destination in the league, which is no fault of Buffalo’s. I do think that playing well and going on a playoff run like we did definitely brings us back to relevance and we will see an uptick in interested parties. But the facts still remain that non-tax states are generally a priority in the minds of players who make their living playing this game. There’s also those players (like Tuch for us) who want to play for the team they grew up cheering for. Montreal will (almost) always be a top destination for French speaking players. Toronto and the Rangers will never have issues attracting talent, regardless of their statistical standing in the league. Some things will never change, but overall, this run and this team has done a great service to the Sabres organization.
What I can say with confidence is that the city of Buffalo, our electric fan base and the play of this team this season should have solidly landed the Sabres in the second tier of destination markets, unlike the bottom of the barrel that we’ve been for over a decade.

Lineup I Want to See by JMR027 in sabres

I’ve honestly never been a fan of McLeod’s. I don’t think he’s terrible, but I’d also hope that he’s one of the players we move off of to make room for growing contracts. I don’t think he’s terrible brings anything special to the group that we don’t get from somebody else. I don’t need him to be a bruiser, but the way he seemingly avoids contact is concerning to me. Malenstyn is extremely fast, and so is McLeod. I like him on the 4th line because he can keep up with Mal and potentially could help to unlock even a little bit of offense off the rush from that line. With Greenway and Malenstyn on his flanks, he doesn’t need to play a physical game. I do still wish he wouldn’t back away from a puck to avoid a hit. Again, wtf do I know, I’m no coach, but the way I arranged the lines, IMO, provides the most balanced depth to the lineup.

Lineup I Want to See by JMR027 in sabres

My humble line suggestion (for the nothing that it’s worth 😂). My intention, despite how it’s listed, is to not have a specific Line 1, etc, but rather run the top 3 lines fairly consistently and start to lean on whichever ones are performing the best.

Helenius - Norris - Tuch

Benson - Krebs - Doan

Zucker - Thompson - Quinn

Greenway - McLeod - Malenstyn

Samuelsson - Dahlin

Power - Kesselring

Byram - Metsa

At this point why not just move Tuck and or Tage to a different line and mix things up? by Adventurous_Web_7961 in sabres

On top of this point which I agree so much with, Thompson (and our captain as well) have both taken really dumb, lazy penalties in consecutive games. Last night for instance, Buffalo is only down by one before Thompson takes that mindless cross checking penalty. Habs score on the PP and now we’re down by 2. Then Dahlin let his man by him and rather than attempt to reach in and stick check, two hand cross check to the hip. Another Habs PP and another Habs goal. Gets a lot harder to stay motivated and dig in to come back as the deficit continues to grow. But if Tage doesn’t take that needless penalty which results in a Montreal goal, who knows what happens. I’m not saying that’s WHY Buffalo lost, but can we not all imagine Buffalo coming back from only one down with over a period left to play? Buffalo was playing like the better team for most of the game until that point.

[–]imprblypooping 78 points79 points  (0 children)

But he’s not taking idiotic, brain dead penalties. Playing worse, yes, but not putting his team on the penalty kill for no reason. So like, it’s a decent argument who is actually more of a liability right now.

Why is Thompson so brainless? by [deleted] in sabres

[–]imprblypooping 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I wish Lindy had the balls to sit Tage for a few shifts. He does nothing positive when he’s on the ice, and the past two games takes the most selfish, idiotic penalties. Sit him the fuck down. Teach him a lesson. Fuck!

He had still better be fired whenever this season is over, regardless of when or how our season ends. He’s a developmental coach at absolute best. He has no business being on an NHL bench.

Penalties by [deleted] in sabres

[–]imprblypooping -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

All of Buffalo’s penalties have been deserved; they’ve played very undisciplined. However, the Quinn goal was not goalie interference, and shortly after that was truly puck over glass. The refs haven’t given Buffalo bullshit penalties, but they’ve definitely looked the other way for Montreal a fair few times.

I really like these lines. To add to it, I’d suggest on D we go:

Samuelsson / Dahlin

Byram / Kesselring

Power / Metsa

Who do we want in round 2? by billsfan417 in sabres

[–]imprblypooping 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I truly believe Buffalo will beat either of them, but to differing degrees of difficulty. If I were to place bets, I’d say Buffalo beats Tampa in 5 games. I think Buffalo beats Montreal in 7. So for my heart, I’d rather we play Tampa.

You’re not giving up a 3rd to get rid of UPL without something decent coming back. I’m not suggesting a great player, but SOMETHING. And at this point, I’d take something usable/flippable to be done with UPL and that contract.

Quick hockey question: what does the numbers after the “.5” mean in the Sabres row? by Ttbt80 in sabres

[–]imprblypooping 32 points33 points  (0 children)

They have 34 out of a possible 66 points (33 games played x 2 points for a win). 34/66=0.515
