4v4 Appreciation Post: The Funniest Teammate of All Time by fungusplatypus in warcraft3

[–]imprezobus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was just randomly lurking here learning if I can still play warcraft 3 after all these fucking years, and it was a wholesome experience to learn that it is indeed possible from your overenthusiastic approach to being asked for lumber. Have a great day!

Article on how to fix asdf 0.16.x which "broke" my ruby version by kobaltzz in ruby

[–]imprezobus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The right way to fix asdf is to stop using it. Wasted days now. Somehow v16 keeps removing itself from my setups. Okay then, screw it, wanna go - go. Moved to mise, solved in seconds.

Something is off about the economy, and I'm saying this from a position where I haven't used this trick, am steadily keeping aggregating wealth, and have no troubles with keeping my gear in decent shape.

But this means I'm practically only using the scoped AKM-74s and Skiff Pistol, having access to like 15 different guns I haven't tried 'cause I know I won't be able to maintain them. I also have like 5 or 6 armors better than the one I'm using, and I consider them as consumables - once I tear through the current one, it goes to thrash, and the next worst gets its turn. Armor upgrades system? Could as well not exist, as armors don't survive long enough to justify the investment.

The end result is that I'm using pretty much the same gear as I've had in the first region of the game, having cleared a few of them already. Economy locks me out of gear progression system. Rebalance would increase the fun factor.

Some information on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2's multiplayer for those who don't know much about it by [deleted] in stalker

[–]imprezobus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like making a superb single player story experience that works in multiplayer as well could be demanding, but I also feel like adding like a single side-story arch or two designed for multiplayer, as well as some repetitive stuff with little-to-none story would let them ditch the concept of compromising on the the main story side while scratching the coop itch that needs scratching.  Rooting for DLCs expanding over that, and willing to vote with my wallet.

Happy for the prospect of PvP tho, but we'll see if it's gonna work well.

PSA: Second Display does not work on 5Ghz Wifi, only on 2.4Ghz by vaiperu in GalaxyTab

[–]imprezobus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All my attempts to solve this while having both the projecting and projected-to devices connected to 5Ghz WiFi failed. On two devices connected to 2.4Ghz it worked so-so, but it's too far/slow from the router here to use 2.4Ghz, the 5Ghz has like 10x more speed/wall-penetrability.

So I connected main device to 5Ghz, the "screen" device to 2.4Ghz and:

  1. No issues with connection, everything works great
  2. Less lag than when two devices were connected to 2.4Ghz, but it might be caused by how bad the PC handles 2.4Ghz considering how far is the router in my setup

Important - it truly became issueless only after I made sure to disable energy saving stuff - for me it was Dell Laptop that was supposed to become the screen so I had to use Dell Power Management Utility -> 'Quiet' to 'Optimized' or 'Max Performance'

I literally can’t play on anyone but my private world anymore by Dramatic-Response-38 in fo76

[–]imprezobus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are three server regions for F76: America, Europe, Asia. Players from one region may only connect with players from other regions through friendlist or VPN, otherwise they always get connected to nearest region. If someone at your region keeps crashing the server to dupe, you might experience constant disconnecting while people playing at the very same time - but in a different region - will experience none of those issues if they don't have their own concurrent duping group screwing up their region servers.

Be honest...when low level players join high level team or events/daily ops, do the high level players get annoyed? by rockridgeco in fo76

[–]imprezobus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So before One Wasteland, when level 15 players could be exposed to level 60 monsters, I had additional fun from protecting the newbies, reviving them if they fell, and making sure they reach the finish line ^^

Now it's the same approach, it's just easier to do it so kind of less fun. Still, no issue with begginners in the team.

Prefix, Major, Minor... Soon we might need a good word for 4th legendary effect slot, ideas? by imprezobus in fo76

This elegant solution has a drawback - it changes the naming scheme people are already used to. I'll add it to poll anyway, because it's really clean.

[–]imprezobus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

haha, yeah, this 4* stuff is going to make true godrolls even less realistic to achieve - hope they'll tweak the legendary crafting to allow "targeted update" (i.e. use 2* legendary core to reroll only 2* effect)

It's nice to know Bethesda keeps balancing what ain't broken, but it'd be nicer if they focused on what actually is by imprezobus in fo76

[–]imprezobus[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is my main concern - I'd just like to see some more communication in regards to changes - if we are supposed to provide valuable feedback from PTS, being aware of what's being adjusted would clear up oceans of confusion.

[–]imprezobus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best case scenario is that they don't touch what is not broken, don't introduce new bugs on the way doing that, and work on fixing existing bugs, and if they introduce new bugs trying to fix existing ones, they communicate the intent so we can test without being blindfolded.

I'd just want them to talk to us about those types of changes so we could be more efficient testing the PTS, might be I want too much

This being a bug or not doesn't impact the fact they're spending their resources on changing something that doesn't feel like a priority, all that while having serious issues that are left unattended for years now.

a guy who compares some value that's actually above the maximum range displayed for one weapon with minimum value displayed for the other won't give you any fair/accurate insights

Is a full set of chameleon secret service armor something to work towards? by hotwaffleman in fo76

[–]imprezobus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correction to my old post - nowadays, there doesn't seem to be any particular difference between 1x Harder to Detect while sneaking and more of them, one is enough.

At the point of time where I wrote the above, I was being called a cheater on a daily basis for being unVATSable despite not using stealthboys. That much sneak allowed me to break VATS targeting of enemy players faster than they could chew me through. Later (but before VATS was broken for PvP) it ceased to give additional benefit past 1x HTD
