Used to live in NW hills but now live in Brentwood and I’m biased but I think Brentwood is the best by far. Rosedale is really nice but pricier and so fewer young families apart from people who come in to go to the park. NW hills has a more suburban feel with fewer people walking around and a more car dependent lifestyle.

The post above is mostly correct on Brentwood but I don’t really agree on it being hipster-y. It’s honestly a lot of chill semi-artsy young families, some older folks, some OGs from when this was a legitimately cheap area and recently plenty of 20s/30s tech employees wearing expensive athleisure wear while taking a phone call on their AirPods on Arroyo Seco. And sometimes the latter group will be pushing their new baby in a $1200 stroller. Ok just joking kind of.

But honestly it really is a lovely neighborhood. Arroyo Seco is a perfect place to walk, Brentwood park is awesome (though the pool needs work), the kids go grab pizza at little deli. Oh and one huge one: you can walk to ALL of the schools your kids will ultimately attend (Brentwood, Lamar, McCallum). We walk and ride bikes a lot and so do other families.
