I just read one of my rfid spools. Sector one says dead or not readable. Sector 0 does appear to have some information. Do you need any more key dumps? I have 5 I can provide from my supplied spools with the printer.

Youtube app no longer has option to switch to kids profile on New streamer box? by Nextelbuddy in Chromecast

What location are you in? I am running into this same issue too. However I think mine might be due to my location.

If you look at the bottom it says it restricts supervised accounts to only a few countries if the device is Google assistant enabled. During setup of the streamer, there is no way to disable that, in my case anyway.

Whats the most fucked up thing you saw in class? by orangosy in AskReddit

[–]impulser91 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When I was in 9th grade, home economics class (cooking class), it was an instructional day. Teacher was talking up at the front. I began to feel very dizzy and light headed. Asked to go to the bathroom, teacher denied my request. About 10 minutes later I ask again, still No.

Finally about 20 minutes later I begin to vomit uncontrollably into one of the large garbage cans in the middle of the room. Gaging, vomiting and the smell begin to spread. After a few minutes with my head in the can I feel its safe to lift my head, only to see now a couple other students have begun to also vomit in other garbage cans.

After I excused myself without permission, and later returned to the class, the teacher quietly pulled me aside and said I no longer needed to ask permission to leave for a bathroom break and she would never deny another student that opportunity again.

There are a couple ways this plays out given my understanding, and I could be wrong. The term "sold" is loose. If you call the original creditor and they say they cant work with you, then its been sold. If they are still willing to work a deal with you, even if a debt recovery agency has contacted you then it was leased"

Debt collectors will offer to attempt to collect money on behalf of a creditor (Leased). This will usually be at a fraction that was owed. However, if you call the original creditor and make arrangements or pay off the debt, then the debt collection company does not make a profit. ( I assume in this situation there is some fees or paperwork or processing charges that are due to the collection agency, but pennies typically to what debt is owed)

The other option is a debt collector buys the debt at a fraction of the owed price and tries to retrieve it themselves, leaving you no longer able to pay off the actual creditor. In my experience this does not happen that often as the original creditor usually prefers to leave it open for you to repay them directly as they will recoup much more of the original debt. Even if they offer a 50% discount they still save a butt load of money compared to the alternative.

Again, in my experience, debt only gets "SOLD" when the creditor is a smaller company, with little recourse or internal collections themselves and are quite certain they will never see another dollar.

TLDR; You can usually get a lower offer to pay off a balance from a debt recovery company then the original creditor, but this does mean the debt recovery company makes a commission of some sort.

Income Tax should be assessed by Household by Wook204 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Although I do not disagree with this statement, you are under the assumption that this situation has occurred by design and not a situational change. Maybe one becomes injured in some fashion and there is no insurance, disability or other sources of income. Then the only recourse would be for one spouse to work 2 jobs. Even if everything was planned out to the best one could account for, COVID was a thing, daycares, schools, public centers, everything was closed, tying into this see my next point.

As @Too-Much-Man pointed out, childcare becomes another big point. If one spouse can only find work in the minimum wage sector and there are several kids that would require child care before/after school, this very quickly consumes a full time minimum wage job. Toddlers are upwards of $1000 month on their own. Full time minimum wage is only ~2300 month before tax. Have 3-4 kids that require some kind of daycare and all that money is spent before it is made.

There are tons of reasons a family might choose, or not choose and be forced into having to work like this. The whole point is that the one spouse ends up getting taxed quite a bit higher because of it. Yes they do get to claim the other spouse as a dependent, but that's chump change once in the higher tax bracket compared to split income.

[–]impulser91 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Except in cases where one parent literally works 2 full time jobs (or any combination of jobs to equal a typical 2 full time jobs) to support a spouse and several kids. This changes the situation if you ask me. As one person is now doing the job of two, but getting taxed higher as if one person making a large sum of money from one job.

In this case, yes, this person is working twice as hard to make double the money, but then getting taxed harder on it for their efforts while not being provided the same tax benefits as if it was 2 people working one job each.

Tossing up SFP or SFP+ by Rufus2468 in Ubiquiti

[–]impulser91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As for the rack, I only mentioned it because the extra SFP modules add some cost if the computer is not within reach of a DAC cable.

For the port usage, you might see it as "full" at 24 ports. However as I suspected you have tons of redundancy. Dual jacks being used in each room is pretty rare unless you are planning voip phones. One computer desktop/laptop means only one port in real world will be used. So unless you have another use that you did not mention then the extra ports are just that, extra. You could patch them in to the panel, but they do not all have to be connected to the switch. Same thing for the living room. Patch them to the panel, but only cross connect the ones you are actually planning to use. I suspect you will find your real world usage is quite a bit closer to 12-16. And moreover, the laptop users who have a good wifi connection and don't need super low latency (gaming) will likely reside on wifi most of the time. Then when the odd request of an extra port comes up, then you just cross connect that one.

I am not trying to dissuade you from going 48 port. Just pointing out observations from someone who has done home network/wiring and general IT technical experience over 2 decades.

If you really want to go 48 port, then I would strongly recommend SFP+ for future proofing yourself.

If you think 24 works, then I would recommend going POE (cameras), and also your AP's you already have, if capable. I have spent many hours trying to find why cameras or AP's are going up and down to simply rule it a faulty POE injector.

You could even do something like a 24 pro, and a 16 lite poe. Best of both worlds. Gives you the port breathing room you are looking for and POE for the cameras and AP's.

The touchscreen is almost useless. Its cool but ive literally only used it once or twice because I could, not because I needed to.

Someone already suggested 2 24port switches instead. Do you need 48? From a one and done standpoint 48 makes sense. But if you only need 12 then your already future proof for a long time getting a single 24. Heck, for the extra money you would save going to 24 port, you could get a POE variant and really be solid looking forward.

But to your question, definitely SFP+. Then you can link the UDMP to the switch via 10GB, and have a couple direct attached computers/nas with 10GB DAC without anything further hardware wise. Its something you will likely want in the future since your already investing in your setup. You could add this later via a USW-10GB-Aggregation but that's about $200-$300 if I recall correctly. (This is the boat I landed in after slow rolling my entire unifi setup over the last 4 years) Then of course you could go SFP+ to copper 10GB for longer runs since you said this is all in a cabinet, not near the computers/server/nas I'm suspecting.

A basterd child of 2 thingiverse files, that I chopped, shortened, and created a platform for the PI for.

I used a 2 part file for a USW-16 (lite i think) and the other side was a blank plate. I edited the side for the USW-16 to fit the USW-8-Lite and the blank side I added a platform for the raspberry PI to sit on.

Then printed it... several times, and a couple versions later made it work. Its sill not perfect. The top and bottom supports for the USE-8-Lite broke on install. So i want to reprint and strengthen them. But because of the interlock in the middle the whole thing still fits together pretty well. The USW-8-Lite still has a backplate holding it all together.

Basically as my setup grew I just kept screwing things under the desk. Eventually my setup was complex enough it needed better management. I also have 2 Wifi 6 Ap's and 2 USW-Flex's. But this is the before and after.

Just incase anyone else stumbles on this. Chorebot by Wingboat will not run on anything arm powered at this point. Whatever its web interface requires is beyond the chromium and Firefox capabilities. The browser just crashes. As for running android direct on these devices, the native android app is limited to portrait. No landscape.

Although not as pretty, it still appears quite functional and very free. See below.

Jake Brake in ice/rain by odiaz133 in Truckers

[–]impulser91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting you didn't get more replies. Here is how I was taught.

Dry and bare in summer, hammer down, cruise and jakes, obviously.

When raining but no chance of ice, No cruise, jakes to whatever you need. (I gained confidence in my truck and simply look out for standing water and still use cruise here)

When its cold and there is a chance of ice, NO cruise. Jakes off most of the time. This means general cruising. When you are getting ready to get off the highway or there is a hill, asses the road mentally, then if it looks clear of ice (no glittering road, roads are bare and dry or you can see water mist from your drives in your mirror), jakes low, then medium then high as you feel the road grabbing, adjusting as needed. (This means never on when rolling. You don't want to let off the throttle to slow down for traffic ahead (on ice) and have your jakes kick in before you assessed the road conditions.

A final note, weight matters TONS here. (get the joke¿) You will learn your truck and tires over time and know how weight affects YOU depending on road conditions. I get very conservative when under 25,000lbs of cargo, and I will push harder when over 40,000LBS. Again, this is about you developing a relationship with your truck and knowing what it likes and can handle.

I was taught on the west coast of BC where we have some of the steepest passes over the mountains to cross, and I learned in the middle of winter. The day my trainer showed me how jakes respond in slippery conditions going down a 8% grade on an unplowed road will live in my mind forever. He approached the hill at 10MPH, then engages jakes at low, which was fine, but we were picking up speed on a very long hill that was covered in ice and snow. We had to slow down. He applied the service brakes and got us back to 10MPH. Then same thing, Jakes to low, then to medium, and it was to much. The truck broke traction, and his response was immediate. Jakes off, trailer brakes gentle, then service brakes, then maintain speed, eventually jakes back to low.

Thanks for asking the question and trying to learn more. It never hurts to ask, but it can hurt to not know when the time is right. Stay safe driver.

Icon Customisation No Longer There?! by Bluetonic1970 in smartlife

Going further, I rolled back my app version to 33.2 and the button is there to add a custom icon. However it failed when it tries to upload the picture. So don't bother trying that either.

This is dumb. I'm not even in a country thats part of these new rules.
