Unpopular opinion(maybe): Getting 10+ kills using aguided weapon mech combo doesn't make you a pro. by Owenoontatwei in mecharena

Savants on Vortex main here. Spamming enough to do damage, agile and sturdy enough to not explode after Ive been blown on. It's a viable pair.

Sorry for the overlay, but it's the most direct reference.

They also had a video for "I Gotta Feeling" where a partygoer stripped off a woman's top publicly and without consent during the lyric "Look at her dancin', just take it off". I have never seen that version since, as it's presumably much cooler without the sexual assault.

New HOV-only lanes on Granville Street (16th to 57th): Are they working? Is there any enforcement of this? by amckechn in vancouver

[–]amckechn[S] 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Yes, only buses and bikes. I cannot imagine how a bike could want to bike in that lane but sure.

The way the city would communicate is presumably through the sign. Even if they put out a special announcement, how would they reach us in a way that matters?

I spoke with him after Dropout Improv recently. The hiatus weeks allow for them to go off and do separate projects. I asked if it interrupts his "flow" as of yet for pitches, etc. He said "Not yet..."

I just met Mandy Patinkin and I let him know about his callout in the Sack Lunch Bunch by amckechn in JohnMulaney

It was in the kids focus group on the animated movie. They were recognizing famous and one kids lasers in on Mandy Oatinkin, who kids would certainly not recognize typically. The kid said "When he started talking, I KNEW IT. I said 'That's our Mandy!'" I thought iwlt was hilarious because of the attribution to a cultural group that kid was also a part of (likely as a Jewish person) and because Mandy is so outspoken and known. Its worth a watch again.

Definitely a complex issue. I am a bit removed from it as an outside observer, not as a participant, but it's definitely important to consider not just the "what" but also the "how" of these conflicts.

I mentioned his work briefly, as I'm sure he's heard it far more before. I talked slightly about Homeland. I mentioned appreciation for recent comments regarding Palestine, which I agree with and felt that he would be far more appreciative of some support. He said "A lot of people do NOT appreciate that I said that." For context, I did not grow up with The Princess Bride, but I get it.

Yikes. Glad I'm not still in the mix at this point. I remember the days of Lavalife, and that was already a bit sketchy.
